  1. I've heard lots of nice reviews on them. Who knows if they will do it again, but they had all of their H20 stuff 50% off for a week around the bassmaster classic last year. I had just placed a big order somewhere else or I would have taken advantage.
  2. Its possible I've crammed too much stuff in it. And yes on the making sure its shut all the way. Trust me, I'd give it a 4.5 stars in a rating.
  3. Yep, same. They work great for the boat and kayak, really bad for bank fishing.
  4. I have two of them. I love them. Just dont drop it or shake it up though, your box will be less organized.

  6. Usually they give it to you, they just can't advertise it. The discount magically shows up in your confirmation email. Maybe for Black Friday/COVID they don't want to mess with it this year. I doubt it though.
  7. I have both and have caught more fish with an x-rap. I've only caught 2 fish with the Shad, and they were both times I must have hit the fish right on the head because when it landed in the water, the fish nailed it. Total reaction thing, had nothing to do with the action of the bait. When I've had to work the bait, I've got no fish. Can't say I've used it a ton though. The x-rap darts like crazy, I think it provides a lot of fish-catching ability for the price. It runs a little deeper than the Shad, due to the Shad being a riser. I think my plan for my Shad is to use it when I river fish for Smallies. I think the rise action will keep it from getting caught in the rocks. If you dig around and you'll find deals on Rapalas right now, with Black Friday this week.
  8. This is not me crowing, but I’m just offering up a different experience. I was able to work from home since the shutdowns in March. This gave me more time to get out and fish than I ever have. Heck I’d just run up to my neighborhood pond for an hour at lunch if I could. My dad and I also vowed to get out on local lakes or out to one of our better fishing lakes in Missouri once a week. So I had more time to spend with him. As a result, I had the best fishing year of my life. I learned more techniques, improved at all aspects of fishing. Even went out and got myself a kayak to river fish. I discovered a few fisheries off the beaten path that produced. I caught more bass over 3lbs this year than probably my whole life combined. I obviously am routing for life to go back to whatever normal is, but d**n I worry that means less time out on the water and that makes me sad. I had a blast and I don’t intend on stopping this winter until everything is frozen over.
  9. I actually did quite nicely with my white/ghost colored Rerange this late Summer / early Fall. I was only using 1-2 second pauses. Ive also seen the Rapala Shadow Rap Shad described as a warm water jerkbait. I think Seth Fieder described it as, use the Shad in the summer, use the normal Shadow rap in the winter. There you go, that’s my two cents.
  10. Thanks everyone for all of those great recommendations. There were a couple in there I own (subwalk & ripstop) and I have not tried at this particular lake, so I'll doing that this week. And there were quite a few that I just added to my TW sale list. Maybe I'll come back to this thread and let you all know if I have success with a particular lure.
  11. Does anyone have suggestions for a jerkbait that runs super shallow? I fish a large pond/small lake that doesn't get very deep. There's a dam that is the deepest part that I can't throw a "normal shallow" jerkbait such as a 6th Sense Provoke, Rapala X-Rap, etc without running it into the bottom. They get all mucked up half way through the retrieve. Thanks in advance for your help.
  12. I second both the Shady Rays and the KastKing. I have both and like them equally. I've dealt with both customer service dept. and they seem like good people.
  13. Two weeks ago I found that the cove my dock resides in was the place to be for a feeding frenzy. There were blowups everywhere. I had put all of my tackle away for the day, but still had a rod rigged up with a “Silver” color Rapala DT4.So I decided to keep fishing. For about 45 minutes I caught fish on a majority of my casts. Real quick retrieve. Caught two LMB over 4, lots of little LMB, a 16 inch White Bass, and heck even a 5 lb Drum. It’s was a blast. So if you have one of those DT4s, give it a try.
  14. I was able to get a discount at TW for megabass on Labor Day.
  15. I just saw the BPS Black Friday ad. It gets worse every year as far as fishing goes. One page devoted to fishing out of 28. One rod, no lures except a ned rig kit. https://www.theblackfriday.com/bassproshops-blackfriday.shtml?page=21
