Lately, I've been thinking that this is a much more widely practiced part of bass fishing than I initially thought. This thread seems to confirm that. Maybe I need to start getting those lawn chairs together.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with you there. When I was building my last boat I went into WM looking for a spacific $6 part that I could only find on line. They had it there for $45 dollars. They told me that they wouldn't match any company on the internet. I agree that their main costomers are guys with big boats and fish salt water so why are they here in Augusta GA. It takes three hours to get to the Atlantic ocean from here and there is a boat size limit on the only big lake around. It doesn't add up. Sorry, meant to say local competition. You are correct regarding internet pricing. I've encountered that before as well. Interesting point being so far from the salt.

West Marine will price match any competition. West Marine's customer base is very widespread, but is pretty much NOT targeted to bass fisherman. The majority of the customers are cruisers, sailors, big boat guys, and saltwater fisherman.

Likely. Send it off to the prop shop. The one I use charges around $50 I think for a rehub.

Here's my personal experience, both of the first TWO I tried both wouldn't even turn on a second time after first use. Left a bad taste in my mouth, again, can't speak for accuracy.

The surface of the little grabber things... the pinchers if you will, they are textured, almost sharp. If you put in on your hand, it hurts, not going peta or anything, just feels like they could do damage to a fish. oooo yeah i know what you mean now. i kinda like the fact that they are textured. i feel it gives a better grip on the fish. plus they dont even have nerves in their lips/mouth so it doesnt matter. but do you know if they are very accurate? I've never had a fish flip off the boga, it gets behind the bone I guess, I'm pretty sure that I've caught some big bass before. that the rapala's jaws would NOT have fit around. Maybe not though. Can't speak for the accuracy.

I've always heard that the bps reels are made by pflueger as well.

The rapala lock n weigh is not in the same class as the boga, put it on your hand one time, you'll see. It feels like a meat tenderizer. I have a buddy that used it in the salt, and it was history in about a year. My boga is as smooth as the day I bought it. It's often said, but you get what you pay for.

The symetre has the "super slow oscillation", and it's definitely worth the $20.

I sold both of my fishing kayaks and bought a 1544 modified v G3 w/ a 15hp Yamaha and trailer. I can now stand up, move around, stretch my legs, and move 20mph. I do not regret selling them for 1 second. Hate them. I'll go one step further and say that I catch way more fish from my G3. Just make sure you like being so restrained before you jump in.

You can buy them at the big names, but most good tackle shops carry them. They are mechanical... Spring scales, available in 15lb, 30lb, or 60lbs (massive) I've got the 30lb, I do a lot of inshore fishing. I don't see them mentioned much in bass circles really, seems like most consider them a saltwater tool. They double as a landing tool for toothy fish. Very high quality stuff. the 15 and 30 set you back $100+, I think I paid $115 or so for mine. The 60 is over $200 I believe. If cared for it will last a lifetime, and they're also IGFA certifiable.

What do you think the "Conservation Police" are doing anyway? MAKING THE LAW UP? Why is it so important to "see it in print"? So it's easier to prove that you couldn't have known about the law in the first place? I'm just really having a hard time digesting this thread already.

Wow, 30 fish day is a great day in my book. My average best day is normally 5-10 fish, but I guess that's because I'm always searching for that big bite. Nice pics and looks like a cool boat you've got too.

Yes, I prefer Hawg... Never really used lunker.

I usually fish Creature baits with a flipping stick, braid, Gamakatsu superline hook, and a 1oz tungsten bullet weight.
