  1. I've heard some guys swear up and down that it does with passion. I've heard some good arguments, but I smoke and catch fish... Maybe I'd catch more?
  2. Curious, anybody know the origin of the term lunker? Always wondered, never asked. Funny word, is lunk a verb? To lunk? Is something that lunks a lunker? Help me understand.
  3. After fishing a Symetre, I would not buy another Stradic. I own four Stradics, from my inshore fishing days, and if they have to be replaced, it will be with Symetres.
  4. First day of Hurricane Season, and low and behold there's a tropical storm outta nowhere looming over Florida. Hypothetically of course, if you were to go fishing during the storm what baits would you be throwing?
  5. I love the presidents, but wish they weren't so tall. Little hard to palm well.
  6. Anybody else heard this? Where did you hear redneck?
  7. Wow, guess I may try this line... Sounds like good stuff.
  8. We get a lot of Ospreys down here... The Bald Eagles are the ones that I like to see...
  9. I have a few Shimano 4000's (I'll say it) Stradics, Symetres, Sedonas, and everytime I pick them up I wish they were 2500's.
  10. Thanks, wasn't sure who that was directed to... A lot of trouble to get a fish to your living room then to release it... Dinner? Taxidermist? Dog toy?
  11. Who? Me? I released the fish pictured in my avatar... It only went 9.5
  12. A 12lb bass more closely resembles a labrador retriever than it does your chihuahua...
  13. Don't know if this is what you should do, but I make a bee line for one of many empty boathouses littered around the lake I primarily fish, dock the boat and wait it out.
  14. Definitely something to look into, we sell these at my store... totally slipped my mind.
  15. Assuming that the cane seat is inherently sturdy and can handle this, I'd suggest maybe strapping the new block over the existing cane seat so that it would be removable if you wish.
  16. I used to kayak fish. I liked it much better for flats/inshore saltwater fishing. Work doesn't allow me to get to the coasts much anymore, so I sold my kayaks and bought a jonboat instead. With that being said... I think they are a great fishing platform and perfect for those who can't afford a bigger boat. On the other hand I've known guys who have sold their flats boats and now exclusively use kayaks.
  17. We see a lot of big bass caught around here on shiners. It's not uncommon to see a lot of publicized 14lbers+ around here. I don't feel that they are as credible as fish caught on artificials... just my opinion. I don't fish with livebait, never really have.
  18. That first fish has GOT to be at least 8lbs.
  19. Oh man! That does drive me nuts! The BIG fish too... Glad you mentioned that...
  20. As long as it has a functioning livewell that can keep bass alive, I don't see why not.
  21. I would like to believe that since you pulled the fish through the water and he swam away on it's own, that it will be fine. Although, I just don't know for sure. Would like to hear more responses.
  22. Yeah, I don't like to see that bass. There are a lot of guys that go over to the bahamas from fl to go spearfishing. It's legal over there (as far as I know), and I'm sure that they eat it all. A lot of the offshore fisherman here don't particularly care for them, same reasons as stated here. I like the argument regarding the fish market, good point. Really got me thinking about my local lake, entire west bank is flooded w/ gar. Almost makes me think that they could be thinned out a little, how does bowfishing in this instance make you guys feel? Think of all the bass fry the gar are eating, they're all over the bass beds...
