  1. Excellant work Marty. I really like the Tenn. shad.
  2. No. Its another one I'm thinking of ordering ;D It's made by Kelly Barefoot at CLU, its called the Prodigy. : http://www.customluresunlimited.com/clu But, if you haven't got one of Marty's yet, I highly recommend one. They are real sweet.
  3. I'm sure many of you guys already know about the quality of work that Marty puts in his custom crank baits. I received a couple last week and I'm very pleased with them. Although I haven't got to fish much since, the lakes have turned over and the water dropped to 50, I'm sure they will produce. I really enjoy looking at the custom crank pics everone post, and Martys even look better in hand and the water, and they run true too. I just got to watch that sneaky bait monkey when the weather turns cold, I also ordered a Baby Pig, and Im looking at some more Zoom/wec, and a Tenn. Tuffy. ;D
  4. CLU lures does a few crackled finishes. http://www.customluresunlimited.com/clu
  5. I like that Jon. Nice work. You got it going on with the blue/purple thing ;D
  6. Thanks guys, I have tried rattletraps some, and I do need to get more confidence in them to use them more. Its not like I'm killing them every trip to the lake on craw patterns, but, its the best pattern I've found so far.I catch myself way too often sticking them when their just" not on". Would the rattletraps be a good choice to let free fall among a group of shad busting the top?
  7. Very nice paint Original.
  8. Looks cool. Neat looking paint job. I think CLU lures does a crackled finish on some of his cranks.
  9. What is your best method and lure for fishing crankbaits in clear weedy lakes? I fish local watersheds that have coontail down to 15', pretty clear water. Abudant bluegill population, but I don't seem to do much good on bluegill colored crankbaits. I actually do better on craw colored lures, Bomber 6a & 7a brown craw and redfire craw. Any suggestions for a bluegill colored crankbait and method to try? :-[
  10. cool colors.nice looking paint.
  11. Marty, my bait, the top one in the 2'nd pic, looks awesome man. I really like it, and can't wait to try it out. I've seen many more of your cranks that are just too cool. Im sure I'll order more later. Thanks again Marty
  12. Nice catch and a good looking crank. I got one ordered from Marty now and can't wait to get it and try it out. I ordered a med. runner in a craw type pattern.
  13. great looking cranks again Marty. Very nice work.
  14. who's stopping you? and yes, it is a great hobby :) nice paint Jon. Probably my health is the main factor, and then the cost.
  15. That is too cool Jon ! Man, being able to paint out great colors/patterns would be awesome, skys the limit. If I could do that, I got a bunch of lures that I dont do any good on that I could change up. That would be a great hobby. You have really seemed to pick up on this very quickly, or have you been looking into it for some time? Very nice work Jon.
  16. Very good quality paint job. You jumped right into the paint thing.
  17. Great looking cranks Marty. Something about the middle one in the second to last set excites me, , the red/chart. mixed in. I'm getting real anxious to see how mine turns out, and try it out at my fav. watershed ;D
  18. Just be sure you check his union card Marty
  19. I think the middle pic of the bottom group is what we're talking about Marty. Looks great. Fine looking cranks, great paint.
  20. Maybe I should list the baits I throw instead of the ones collecting dust I've got to give some of these baits another chance, my " retirement box" is getting bigger than my tacklebox Why don't I ever use my old Jitterbug anymore :-/
  21. I use snap/swivels on all my lures. I thought it would just give them more action, and, I can't see as good as I use to keep retying my knots, so it helps. But, after reading Stringjams post, I dont know why I've been using a snap/swivel . I think I'll change to just a snap.
  22. Nothing seems to trigger more bites on a crank than ripping it thru some weeds or bouncing off some wood or rocks to me. But, I do vary my retreive with a crank. at times slow and steady, or burning, pausing, twitching or jerking. And, if that doesn't work, changing baits a lot, cause I got a bunch of differant crankbaits just dying to get out of the box and get wet ;D...And, If they produce regularly, they will earn a spot in the " top rack" of the ole tacklebox
  23. I had a similar experience also with Plano. I broke a tab off the lid on my plano 737 and a latch over a year after I bought it and they mailed me the parts that just snap in place at no cost. Great company to do buisness with.
  24. Straight colored motor oil used to be a favorite of mine, its hard to find them now w/o the colored flakes. If I do, I'd probaly give them another try.
  25. Real nice fish, great day fishin. Good job. I hope one day to make it back to stick marsh, since our trip got cut unexpectally short.
