Pedestal seat question
Ok, here's a pic of it. I guess I'd call it a subfloor. I guess I want to know what is underneath it and will it support a pedestal?

Missing the hook
Change the plastic color. When they hit like that you're close but not quite there.

NE Michigan?
Sand Lake, about nine miles from Hale and nine miles from Tawas. Good for cats and crappie mostly. Also some large perch. Cats up to forty pounds which is surprising cause its just about the cleanest lake in Iosco. However Indian lake which is in the same lake chain as us puts out some nice Northerns, 35-45" range. There are seven lakes total in the chain, all within walking distance of each other. Look it up on Google earth, smack dab in the middle of Iosco. We've got some local big bass contests that go on for all seven lakes for all summer and the winner is usually around the five pound mark. Kudos if you can have any largemouth luck on my lake, its clean and active water. All seven lakes drain into it. It is the deepest and cleanest, and is also spring fed. It has great smallmouth action as you may have guessed from my description. I was fishing for perch last summer and hooked into a five pounder. I was posing on the dock for pics, about to go enter the big bass contest. I got cocky and it flopped out of my hands, into the lake, never to be seen again. O well, better luck next year. Did I mention that we get stocked for walleye? They're pressured alot by locals though, 24-26 inchers can be caught. Hows Mio fishing?

lol, yes, the fishing is like that up there. Unfortunately its the same on the inland lakes. I once had a seven day skunking, fishing the lake that my cottage is on... Hey logger its nice to know someone else fishes up here. Anything work well for you?

Can bass see my braided line? Does it matter?
Honestly I think the mono gives you a better action from the cranks and jerks, and the stretch provides an easier set. Try something else, there is always another variable. Try fluro or mono or even lighter braid.

Questions on ponds
Thanks, my uncle had the same idea, so thats no issue. But will this "ratio" naturally balance? I don't, and have never kept fish from the ponds. I really don't intend to either just cause I'd rather catch fish then eat them. It just seems like there are too many blues, cause they hit whatever you throw at them, and the bass are pretty selective, usually only hitting topwater frogs. Ideas?

Questions on ponds
I have had permission to fish a couple ponds near my house for a couple years now (they are my uncles). They aren't very far apart and are each about 2 1/2 acres and 8 ft deep. One of the two seems to have more forage and produces better fish, some near the five-six pound mark. However, it also supports an amazing amount of bluegill, many in the ten inch range. The bass have forage other than the small bluegill, like frogs and bugs, so my question is, would removing some or even all the bluegill and putting them in the other pond cut the pressure and allow the bass to thrive more? Or am I cutting out an essential food item. I'm quite uninterested in catching the bluegill anyway, so would the bass population really grow at all? Thanks for reading and answering.
