Physics Q
Is it more efficient to run your boat with the main engine pulled out of the water when using the TM, or does leaving it in do better? In my particulat case I have a 14' aluminum Lund, a 20hp Honda, and MinnKota 55lb PowerDrive (bow mount). I was just wondering if pushing the stern further into the water by bringing the motor out gave less or more drag than the shaft being in the water?

Like software that you buy for areas that give you better maps

Eagle Cuda 250 s/Map Fishfinder with built in GPS
I was looking at it myself, in person, and you absolutely need the map packs for the GPS to be worth anything. Lake Fork wasn't even on it...

Another cork question...
I put new line (30 lb braid) on my baitcaster a couple weeks ago, and the blueness has worn off the line and onto the cork. Tried some of the conventional stuff and it aint cuttin it. Suggestions?

Wood cleaning
I have a lightly colored pine type wood on my seats and I was wondering if you guys had a suggestion for how to clean these things up and just basically brighten them a little. I tried teak cleaner and that didn't cut it.

Hybrid Bluegill
Here in Michigan the accepted pond bait fish is a hybrid of bluegill and green sunfish. I'm just curious as to whether these fish are sterile (unable to reproduce) or not?

Ya'll Watch Out / Question for Fluke & LBH
lol coachitall, I did that once. With a friend of mine, we were on a 24' pontoon with a 50 horse Johnson, at top speed, we chucked the anchor. It was a pretty sharp awakening.

Newb with electronics questions
Yea I just lead everything right on to the terminals. I have a 14 foot Lund and as long as you use good low ga wire and make sure it's not going to contact the hull or anything you're good. The graph and TM have fuses so if anything did happen, they would just blow. As for circuits, you may be putting in more work than it's worth. When you're dealing with high voltage AC like in a house, then it has real potential to fry something fast. But on a low amp marine battery, it's gonna take quite awhile to destroy something, especially with seperate fuses. I'm not saying to just jury-rig everything in there, make it nice, but it isn't a deadly high voltage scenario. I have all my stuff running to a low ga lead line that ties into the battery. Maybe I'm totally wrong too, any experienced opinions?

A theoretical question...
According to bassboy, NBR is right (assuming you don't have the maximizer) and all motors draw the same amps. Now again this question was theoretical, but 100 and 75 lb motors usually only run on 24 and 36 volt anyways. If you ran them all on 36 volt, would it be different?

pond fishing in 40 degree weather??
A Rapala DT-4 in the color of forage fish (Bluegill in Michigan's case) works extremely well for me. On a warm (40-50 F) cloudy day. I fish it fast. Pond bass don't really seem to follow a typical trend at all. Which is cool. My prime time is around noon. I go about 8 Bass/hour in those conditions. My pond is about half an acre, 8 feet deep. The crank runs right on the bottom for about half the retrieve, and its about the farthest from weedless I've ever seen. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

A theoretical question...
If I want to generate exactly 50 lbs of thrust on a trolling motor, which motor will take the least battery juice? A 50 lb, 75 lb or 100 lb? Not that it affects anything I'm buying, just a challenge question. Does running a motor at full, 3/4, and 1/2 power make that much or any difference on the battery?

How many lbs of trolling motor do I need?
I've got a Lund Deep V 14' Aluminum that weighs between 700-800 lbs fully loaded. Im thinking I want to go with a transom mount to save money. How many lbs thrust am I going to need to make it move? Im thinking 55 range, Im not hoping to spend a fortune either, I have other accessories to purchase.

Rod holder Question
I have some of those cheap clamp on rod holders, and I would like to know exactly how to mount the to an aluminum boat like mine. I can't figure it out at all. They are Eagle Claw Rod Holders if you want to google it. I couldn't find anything on them there. Thanks

Sorry, I'm a newb at this... If I want to run two fish finders at the same time do they have to run different frequencies? Can I run two identical units on the same transducer?
