  1. Growing up in africa witha a family that hunts i have eatan most of african antelope species. As well as elephant and girrafe.I dont eat any carnivores but a lot of the american hunters who come down eat the backstraps of the lions and leopards that they shoot.crocodille tail is also very popular.Hippopotamus also is very tasty. We have a tasty snack called biltong which is salted and dried meat strips similar to what to jerky is i think.Ostrich is very common and is considered very healthy asit is low in cholesterol.

  3. Hi Guys some of the guys in my bass club fish for nile perch often that is an above average nile perch. The will definately take a swimbait matt.I have seen them been caught by the side of the boat after chasing a crankbait to the boatside and the guy has moved the bait in figure 8 movement by the boat side. One of my friends went on a trip to Nasser in egypt and they fished a huge underwater rockpile and started catching a lot of fish 15 pounds to about 40 pounds and the guide decided to move as the fish were too "small". :- They make excellent eating and are even expoterd and fish farmed in australia for eating purposes. The eat huge amounts of baitfish and tilapia populations are severly depleted in lakes that have nile perch.

  7. I know everybody thinks that their folks are good. But growing up my parents totaly supported my passion for bass fishing even though they didnt fish. When i was ten or eleven my dad drove a to another town to buy me my first baitcaster one of the grey shimanos in south africa at the time they were rare and double the price of the states so that blew my socks off at the time.A few days after that somebody remarked to my dad that he was shocked my dad shelled so much for a reel and my told his friend he would never spend that on himself but it was for me.So for me thats my folks are all the role models i need and am lucky to be blessed with them.Ps a few years ago i bought my old man a complete callaway golf set but i still dont feel like we even
  8. A lot of people take pot shots at Roland but he is in bussiness an making a living like the rest of us.I was at a seminar a few years ago with Basil Bacon and he said that Rick Clunn was an awesome fisherman but in his eyes and a lot of other pros Roland Martin is the greatest fisherman of all time by a long long way.
  9. Hi guys was just wondering who else makes a 7 inch type fluke i like the zoom ones but the colours are limited and it never hurts to throw a different bait to everyone else. Thanks
  10. Driving back from work the other day there was a lady on a phone in program on the radio that sent 45k to a spanish lottery scam half of the money was her retirement savings and the other half she took a loan she sent it in about 5 payments over six months and she was still under the illusion she was going to get her milions. You would think an old lady would be a bit more carefull but she was so trusting its scary. She even asked the dj if she should borrow another 3k as a final payment to release the millions.I think when they catch these suckers they should shoot there kneecaps and then throw them in a lion enclosure at the zoo 8-)

Hi Guys if anybody is interested in selling their broken Rapalas i will gladly buy them They are expensive here in africa and i have learnt to repair mine well i will also donate some of the one i repair to some of the kids i know i can pay via paypal drop me a private message and i will get back to you cheers.Ps my brother caught a ten pound bass on the smallest jointed shadrap and when it jumped he didnt think the hooks would hold but they did although they were plenty bent.
  15. Bluefox Smartwire spinnerbaits were awesome and the rapala shallow running fat rap i wonder why they discontinued it and there seems to be a lot of demand i wonder why the dont reintroduce them.A mate had over 50 brand new ones in a box a few years ago as they are one of his confidence baits and the whole box got stolen i think it still brings tear to his eyes when he thinks about it.
  16. Thank you very much Raul your reply has been very helpfull.

  21. I have seen quite a few guys asking how to catch Tilapia they are native to Zimbabwe and i have been catching them since i was a kid there are a few methods on catching them.1)when they are spawning one of the best ways to catch them is to look for an area where they are spawning which is normaly a shallow sandy area rig up a mojo rig with a small hook and then hook a bunch of earthworms anchor in the spawning areas and cast out the rig and retrieve it very slowly through the spawning area with ocasional pauses its best to use a rod with soft tip we often use converted trout rods or the yellow eagle claw ultra light rods you feel a very soft bite pause when you feel the bite and let them eat the worms a bit more once you feel a more definite bite set the hook its important to set the drag on the reel a bit light as they like to run if you find the right spawning area you can catch up to fifty fish in a small area. 2)Another method is to use a mepps number 3 spinner in either copper brass or firetiger remove the treble hook and replace it with a single hook put a bunch of earthworms and cast out into areas where the fish have been seen you will feel a soft bite set the hook and walla if you see the fish following the spinner then imeadiately stop retrieving and let the spinner fall to the bottom and watch your line the fish will follow the spinner down and eat the worms. You have to experiment with colours of the spinners we peel the paer with dots off the spinner leavung just a brass or copper blade. It is very important to watch your line especialy on the initial drop as these fish can bite very softly if you see them swimming on the surface cast the spinner past them and they might follow it if not retriev the spinner up to them and let it drop to the bottom they will follow it down 3)Lastly in shallow water you can rig a float i think the are also called bobbers the most poular one we use is a porcupine quill and either use a bunch of worms or use a very small hook with algae for bait and let the float drift the bait through the area grasshopers and crickets are also very effective with this method 4)The last method is two rig a up a basic rig with a weight and either one or two hooks and a bunch of worms and cast out and and watch your line. I hope this helps a little patience and you will pick it up the tilapia are one of the finest eating fish and are a treat to eat. They grow up to about 8 pounds in africa but the is a sub species called the nile tilapia that grom up to about fifteen pounds!!!!
