  1. Nice! She rocks... Anything by Merle or the "Possum"
  2. Welcome from N.C.
  3. Pesky golfers getting in my way on the golf course when I'm fishing there. ?
  4. Great point, I love fishing, but sometimes take for granted the fact I'm able to do it so often! Fishing is about enjoying the time doing something you love, a big fish is a bonus and what we all hope for. I hope all works out for you and your family!
  5. I don't sweat the details, I use an oring, hook it somewhere close to the middle. What I like about the oring, is that it tends to hold my worm on the line when I catch a fish, I just slide it back down over the hook and away I go.
  6. GQ... You would really be a "In-Fisherman" if you wore that?

    Welcome from N.C.
  8. Never really thought of that. Good point!
  9. Slow day to start, water was chocolate milk. Got a few nice blow ups on top water, one ok fish on a jerkbait. I decided to change tactics and went with a Lucky Craft lipless crankbait. Hit this nice fish! Unfortunately, my battery was dead in my scale... So.... I have no clue how much it weighed. I also could not find my tailors tape in my bag...oh well, put em back and try again. I was just about to call it a day because of rain...glad I stuck it out.
  10. Yeah, me too, rocking band live. Saw them with the original Molly Hatchet... Great show!
  11. I just picked one up too. Only complaint I have is the location of the hook holder.
  12. It does, I have and use the Jr. A bit. I've had mixed results. Not my favorite bait, but I do catch fish on it.
  13. And Genny regular... If you're feeling froggy? Don't forget 12Horse Ale for that special occasion!
  14. A Chunk looks more like a frog to me than a craw, so I use it when jig fishing an area that has a lot of frogs on the menu for bass... like lilly pads. It's a little more compact. Chunk and Chunk Jr. Are definitely worth a look. I also use them on Chatterbaits.
  15. Welcome from N.C.
  16. I use finesse tackle a lot for Bass, it seems to work well almost anytime. My favorite rig as of late has been the wacky rig, it seems bass of all sizes are interested in a meal that they don't have to expend much energy to get. I like to use it where the current (caused mostly by wind in most waters I fish) and slower water meet like at the intersections of points and flats, casting into the wind and letting the bait drift until it settles, but I never let the bait sit long. (Also, great when casting to shallow banks) I have caught Pickerel on a wacky rig. I have two finesse set ups, an All-Star 6ft with a Lew's reel and my newest a Dobyns 7ft with a Shimano.
  17. After a lackluster day of fishing the Cape Fear River yesterday, today's fishing was hot. I stopped counting at 12 fish. All mostly in the 2 to 2.5lb range. Couple of good fish. Most of the fish hit a purple Senko rigged wacky style. My finesse gear got a workout today

  19. I use Texas rigs a lot... I'll use 1/8 to 3/16 oz drifting ledges and drop offs in the heat of the summer, I just let it hit bottom (if it makes it there without a hit) and drag and lift. Sometimes I'll put a small split shot about two feet up from my rig ( kinda like a carolina rig) for a different presentation. From the bank, I'll throw it just about everywhere, especially parallel to weed beds.
  20. ☝️This! Lowes sells sod in our area.
  21. What a beast! Congratulations!
  22. I have a cheap Silver Max that casts like a dream. I had it spooled with 15 lb braid, but now have Yo-Zuri hybrid 12lb on it. Once I got it dialed in, it's been reliable. I think my brake setting is just above 1/2 way. I use it every time I fish. Who knows??
  23. I looked closer and saw that.. ? red eyes. Opps.
