Downsizing for Bank fishing - first order of retrievability
I carry a backpack. I fill one 3700 with hard baits that I pick depending on the weather, water clarity,etc...then I have 1 small box with terminal tackle, a scale and 4 or 5 bags of softbaits. Also, bottle of Edge hot sauce and 1 zip-lock bag full of baits soaked in JJ's. And... A snack of course!

Help
This site has a ton of experienced anglers on it. I have been fishing all my life but learned a lot already between the great articles, the comments and advice of posters. As far as a boat, I would get the best, dependable one you can comfortably afford. Fishing is no fun if you're broke down on the water all the time! That being said, you will need to decide what types of waters you are going to fish. I can not emphasize this point enough.... Don't get discouraged! Fishing is like everything else, you get better with practice and knowledge.

Yeah, the gel-coat is a 9.99 out of 10, the spare still has the warning sticker on it! Supposedly has 50 hrs on motor. The driver seat has some binding coming loose... That's about it.

That's a lowrance 3in1 transducer, I have 2- Elite ti2 9" finders on the boat. The mount itself is a piece of 1/4" aluminum flat stock. It was on there when I purchased the boat. I would imagine homemade?

Fish finder
Learning to interpret what your seeing is the key, youtube can help a lot when it comes to that. Some finders make that easier. You can still find fish with older or entry level units. There are lots of informative articles on this site.

Finally listed it.
Bass boats are selling like hotcakes here in N.C. if you're not in the first couple of people to look at it, you won't get it... Unless it's a piece of junk. Sorry to hear about your tough decision to sell, hope all works out!

Biffle Hardheads
I often vary my retrieve by dragging, picking up a couple inches and letting it drop and sit a little bit... Repeat. I use alot of Yum Dingers soaked in JJ's or Edge Hot Sauce.

Ever Shiner / slip-bobber fish for Bass?
At least you had beer. We used to catch our own bait most of the time. Went to Thunder Bay, Ontario for a weekend and fished with bobbers and chubs...lots of action.

Never taken a jig bass. Sad but true.
A lot of times when I'm fishing ponds, I'll have a fish that strikes a lure but I miss it, I'll go back through that area of the water swimming a jig and put a fish on. I also will fish a 1/4 oz flipping jig on the bottom like I would a football jig... Slow and easy.

Ever Shiner / slip-bobber fish for Bass?
We used to use chubs under a bobber for Northern Pike all the time. That's some real fun fishing! Nothing wrong with live bait, you still have to land it!

I think covid has brought a lot of inexperienced boaters to the water. I'm all for mandatory boater training. Also, a little common sense goes a long way.

I miss Musky and Northern fishing. I grew up right at Niagara river, lake Erie and Erie canal. I miss hitting all the Northerns coming up the canal in spring to spawn!
