  1. Great report as usually islandbass. Time spent fishing with family is priceless. The new jigs that you put together look great. Does you daughter still like to fish with dad? My oldest does not not like to go with me anymore. Being a teenager killed that. lol As usual great report and pics. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Being the only one out there is the thing that I love the most this time of year. The silence is awesome. ;D
  3. I have two girls one is 11 and the other is 16. Just the two of them is not so bad but when you add to the mix all of their friends hanging out it can get loud very fast. Most of the time this accompanies loud music that I cannot stand. ;D
  4. It was awesome to be out fishing again. A little colder which I am not so happy about but those are the breaks. I hope to do some wading again this weekend. I probably will fish no matter how cold as long as there is no ice. I would love to have soft water all winter but I am not holding my breath. ;D
  5. When I am using small jig heads for smallie fishing I use a small piece of floral wire, twist it around the eyelet and leaving about 1 inch of wire. I then use that to stick through my soft plastic and it holds very well.
  6. Awesome fish Paul! Congratulations. ;D
  7. Today my husband surprised me and came home early. It was a very pleasant surprise since both the children were at school, and we both had one thing on our minds.... fishing! I was anxious to use my waders so we headed out to one of my all time favorite fishing holes. Temps were very cool. Weatherman said we had some snow heading our way in the forecast but at least the water is not frozen yet. However it sure was cold even in my insulated waders. When we arrived there the lake was like glass but just make things a little more challenging mother nature kicked the wind up a few notches for us. Doesn't it just figure. ;D Started off fishing where the water was deepest. There are some nice rocky structures that we targeted in all three areas we fished today. My bait of choice was one that has not let me down lately in these cool temperatures, small finesse jig and baby craw. I fished it pretty fast today and it seemed to be the ticket to what these fish wanted. Tally for the day was Mrs. M 5 and Mr. M 1. All fish caught were bass. I was hoping to catch some perch or some crappy but no such luck today. Did not take pics of all the fish but only took pics of 2. Mr M did not wish to have the pic of his fish taken today. Grump that he was. ;D First fish of the day.. Another one.. its not always easy keeping your reel out of the water. Last but not least the best little fish I got today. I caught it on an anaconda. (just kidding) I saw this guy laying in a little pool alongside the lake so I was sure to put him back in the lake again and he was happy to swim off with his brothers and sisters.

  15. Great pictures everyone. My favorite part of fishing is the time spent with family. My baby's first topwater bass. The smile on her face Sign at the lake Releasing the fish
  16. There awesome. They work well and give any soft plastic a very nice wobble. I usually throw the 1/8 or 1/4 ounce the most.
  17. I am from Pa as well and the Pa bass love the shad. I love this bait. I have caught many bass on the shad in all different colors. I love to fish them in grassy areas as well like simp. I still fish them in clear water and I change the presentation a bit. I do not burn them. Usually when fishing the shad in clearer water I slow things down a bit and give it very short pops and longer pauses. Aside from changing the retrieval speed of the bait you can also change the angle of your rod tip and get different action out of the bait. I like the 10 and 2oclock positon best myself, it really throws alot of water. This bait does work well. I always have one rigged on one of my poles and it is my go to bait for sure. I think it is also good for night fishing as well. I tried my first shot at night fishing this year, I chose the shad and got a nice one the first few casts. Good luck to you.
  18. Awesome Congrats! ;D
  19. Rage Tail ;D They have always been very good to me.
  20. That area on the river can be alot of fun avid. It has some nice deep water right there and I always love fishing all around the little islands. It can be a blast too. No time for a shore lunch though. ;D Glenn so many people have told me now that walleye are good eating. I have never had it but probably should give it a try in the future.
