Thanks everyone. It is great to finally be out fishing again. ;D I will do that with the glove. ;D I have already had to have rabies shots once before and they were not much fun and also very costly. As far as the boots go they are the best for fishing around sloppy messes. I have had mine for awhile.

That is awesome. I live not too far away from that lake but I don't fish it much at all. Glad to see your finding some nice fish there . Congrats!

Matt and I had the chance to do some fishing a few times this weekend and it was great to be out fishing again in the sunshine and warmth. It was nice to see some activity again at the lakes that we were fishing. Fish were starting to move around and cruise the shoreline and the snakes were even out sunning themselves too. It was awesome! We started out at a small pond where I was able to pick up a few different fish on the eeliminator carolina rigged. I caught all of them in deeper water. Here is one of them. Next day we decided that we were gonna fish a lake about an hour from us and arrived there only to find it closed for trout. We made a decision to try another lake not far from it and it ended up being closed for trout too. > We moved on to another and finally were able to launch the boat for the first time this year. I was not fortunate enough to catch any fish at this place but Matt was able to catch one on the smokin rooster. I could not take the wind at this place anymore so we left there and hit another spot on foot. Matt picked up quite a few more fish on the smokin rooster there too. Next day was Easter and before heading to a big family lunch we stopped at a little pond along the way were I was able to pick up a few fish on the eelliminator again. Awesome way to spend Easter morning. ;D I did however show up for easter brunch covered in pond scum but no one seemed to expect any less from me. ;D As I stood at the pond fishing here I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye and was quite surprised to see a bat right there next to me. It was really cute and after a quick trip to the truck for some leather gloves we relocated him to a location that was a little better for him. Landed alot of fish here. It was great to have an active bite fishing again. All of my fish came on a jig & baby craw in green pumpkin (when the sun was shining bright) I then switched over to black with blue fleck when the clouds came in. A few of my fish from this place. Matt also caught some fish here too and I was able to steal the camera away form him long enough to get a picture of one of them. He caught his on a jig and craw. All of our fish were caught in deeper water adjacent to some shallow flats. It was an awesome weekend and great to be out catching fish again. Hope you guys did some fishing this weekend too. ;D

I fish from shore alot and only throw plastics with the exception of jigs. As far as the plastics go I throw anything ragetail. I have caught fish on all of them. As far as jigs go I usually throw bitsy bugs but I might try some of those GMAN mop jigs. I have heard alot of good things about them lately.
