  1. Does everyone prefer cork or foam handles on their rods? Most of the rods I've owned have cork handles and it seems more comfortable to me than foam. Has the quality of foam increased in the last few years? The few foam handle rods I have owned, the foam either fell apart or got weird feeling after a while.
  2. examples of better rods around same price?
  3. What's the differences between the SV TW, the elite, and the regular sv??
  4. I just checked out that site and something seems kinda fishy that they have reels that cheap. What are some other daiwas you'd recommend around 250 or less?
  5. Yeah, I'll be getting them over time. No rush. Just looking for some suggestions of good reels to check out.
  6. spinnerbaits, square bill crankbaits, texas rigs, flipping/pitching, chatterbaits, lipless crankbaits, etc. I'll have at least 5 different rods including a heavy fast, med heavy fast, med fast, med moderate, med heavy mod. Planning to use the SV TW on the med heavy mod for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits and other such baits.
  7. I looking for suggestions on a couple new baitcast reels. I am already planning to grab a Daiwa SV TW and maybe a Shimano Curado DC. I already have an old Daiwa Team Daiwa reel that has never been used (reel is probably around 20 years old and never even had line on it) and I'm thinking about using it also. Need suggestions for at least 2 other reels. I've been looking at the Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool LFS. Is it a good reel?? Until the last few months I've always used spinning reels and am now switching everything over to baitcast.
  8. Anyone have any experience with the G. Loomis E6X Casting Rods? I stopped by bass pro today after work and was looking at them.
  9. Anyone had any experience with the G. Loomis E6X rods??
  10. How are the newest version of the Shimano Zodias??
  11. I'm looking for a few casting rods for largemouth bass for several baitcasters I have. I was looking at rods but it seems there are so many different brands and models and it can get overwhelming sometimes. Looking for the following casting rods (length doesn't have to be exact, but close): 7'6" heavy fast rod for heavy cover and flipping/pitching 7'3" medium heavy fast rod for jigs and carolina rig and texas rigs 7' medium fast rod for topwater, spinnerbaits, and lipless crankbaits 7' medium moderate rod for square bill crankbaits 7' medium heavy moderate rod for chatterbaits, large spinnerbaits, etc I'm also considering a good 7' medium or medium light spinning rod for some finesse stuff such as very small shakey heads and small ned rigs. Any help would be very useful. Thanks.
  12. I am looking for a new casting rod around $200 or less to pair with my Daiwa Tatula SV TW. It will be used in large lakes and rivers in my area for texas rigs (1/4 oz-3/8oz), spinnerbaits (3/8oz), square bill and lipless crankbaits (3/8oz-1/2oz), jigs (3/8oz), and possibly carolina rigs (no larger than 1/2oz). Not sure if I should break it down into technique specific rods or not since I'm using various lures and artificial baits. I've been looking at the St Croix Premier rod, Daiwa Tatula Elite rods, and the G. Loomis E6X rods.
