  1. What's everyone's favorite flipping hook for creature baits when flipping and pitching into medium and heavy cover?
  2. yeah, I have some of them and like them. Almost every company has one that looks just like those.
  3. What are some of your favorite creature baits when flipping and pitching??
  4. When pitching and flipping to medium and heavy cover do you like using creature baits or flipping jigs? Also what weight flipping jigs or tungsten flipping weights do you usually use?
  5. Looking at a Daiwa Tatula SV TW for 1/4oz and maybe 5/16oz Texas rigs, flukes, and senkos. If I remember correctly the sv tw supposedly works best for lighter weight baits. How would this reel perform for these instances?? Only reason I am considering it is because I already have a tatula elite and love it.
  6. I love my tournament pro speed spool lfs reel.
  7. I found an old Team Daiwa reel in my closet I forgot I had that's probably around 20 years old and it's never been fished or even had line on it. I've looked everywhere online and on Ebay and have never seen one like it with the gold hardware. Anyone know anything about it or what it might possibly be worth? I remember they were really popular with the pros back in the day. I've attached some pics of it below. Any info would be helpful.
  8. with football jigs and flipping jigs I only use 3/8oz and 1/2oz. For swim jigs I stay at 3/8oz. For texas rig the biggest I usually go is 1/4oz.
  9. as long as it's not the blue like the slx lol
  10. I've always loved the look of them, but never owned one. Curious to see if the new model looks any different. Just out of curiosity, what does MGL stand for or mean??
  11. Is there really much difference in the Tatula CT and the Tatula Elite? I am looking for a reel for a Dobyns crankbait rod and would be throwing square bill crankbaits and 1/2 oz lipless crankbaits. Is the Elite worth the $100 extra for what I'm going to be using the rod for?
  12. yeah, I am wanting at least a 7'3" rod since I'll be making fairly long casts. The longest they have in the fury is 7'. The Sierra series has a 7'3" rod in what I'm looking for, but the Kaden series is the same price and it's available in 7'4". I know an inch won't make much difference though. The Kaden just has a few extra upgrades and curious if there's really much difference between the two rods.
  13. Anyone have experience with the Dobyns Kaden rods?? I am looking at the 7'4" medium heavy fast kaden series rod for football jigs (3/8-1/2oz) and maybe light carolina rigs (1/2oz). I may do a little pitching with the rod with football jigs also. I'll be pairing the rod with a Daiwa Tatula Elite reel in 8.1:1 gear ratio.
  14. I'm ordering a Dobyns Fury FR 705CB crankbait rod that's Med/Heavy, moderate fast for square bill crankbaits and lipless crankbaits from 3/8-1/2oz today. What's a good baitcast reel for the crankbaits I'm planning to use on it? Looking to spend around $250 or less.
  15. Does anyone know of any kind of small bass tournaments in NC in the next several months? Fished my first with a friend on good friday (14 boats) and placed 3rd.
  16. doesn't really matter. Less than $300 ideally.
  17. I'm looking for a good baitcast reel for flippin/pitching? I would be using jigs (3/8-1/2oz), texas rigged worms, and maybe a chatterbait (unsure of that).
  18. What's everyone's experiences and opinions on Dobyns rod? I just basically discovered them and they seem to be good quality rods.
  19. I've heard a lot of people here mention Dobyns rods. I'm guess they are good quality rods?
  20. Yeah, I guess I should have included that. lol Mostly jigs (3/8oz), texas rig worms, paddle tail swimbaits, and possibly 3/8oz chatterbaits.
  21. What power and action would everyone recommend for a flipping/pitching rod? I want something around 7'6". Would a heavy fast be too much or would a medium heavy fast be better?
  22. MBR??? How good are dobyns rods? I've heard a good bit about them, but never even touched one of them.
  23. any experience with the crankbait versions?
  24. I'm currently trying to decide between a medium heavy moderate fast and a medium heavy fast. Be using it mainly for spinnerbaits (mostly 3/8oz and maybe 1/4oz sometimes) and chatterbaits (3/8oz).
