I would get a medium power fast action spinning rod. That rod can do a lot. If I was fishing around a lot of grass I’d bump it up to a MH

Throw them the same places you’d throw a heavier one. Sometimes a lighter weight will make all the difference

I’ve owned two lews reels and wouldn’t buy them again. I have a tournament MB which is ok. It doesn’t cast light baits very well and the handle is too small in my opinion. I had an LFS speed spool that didn’t last one year. I’ll stick with shimano

No. Any knot tied properly should not slip at all

I use the same lures as any other day or night

They put grass carp here in a few of our lakes and ponds to try and control the weed growth and it did absolutely nothing.

I use original power pro. I’ve tried the “smooth” 8 carrier braids and didn’t like them at all

4lb trilene xl or 4lb stren original is what I use

Forget the hook keeper and hook your bait onto the first guide ring. Make sure you hook it onto the frame of the guide and not the ceramic insert.

Best piece of advice I can give to a new angler would be time on the water. Their is only so much YouTube and reading you can do. And Like the original poster stated, keep a log.
