  1. We will see how they do for me in the morning after work tonight. They definitely seem well built.
  2. Nothing special but some of my first fish of the year, I actually had my scale with me put completely forgot about it till I put the fish back into the water lol. The bigger one of the two came on a watermelon red fat ika, the smaller one came on a 1/16 oz Rapala original in clown.
  3. I have definitely been meaning to try them out, I just finally got around to buying some. They look good for sure.
  4. I finally got some more stuff, along with my license for this year. 3 spro lipless crankbaits 1 spro squarebill in a different pattern 2 spinnerbaits 2 dirty jigs California swim jigs 1 spool of 16lb fluorocarbon 1 pack of 1/8oz hair jigs Should be a good year I hope, I lost a decent bass 2 days ago ? but this early in the season here in Michigan I am definitely happy with my first bass being a good one.
  5. Well I went to look at jigs and got off on a tangent lol, also if you are near the Kalamazoo area of Michigan. D&R sports center has the new expride B rods in stock, 7'11 xh, 7'3 xh, 7 something heavy and a couple more. Today's haul 1 duo realis onimasu, shadow tiger 1 pack megabass 1/16 screw head jigs 1 pack damiki pandla 1/16 jig heads 2 1/4 oz bucktail pro road runners 1 pack G finesse 3/32 tricky heads 1 pack owner ultrahead 1/16 1 pack zoom trick worms wat gold gltr 2 packs finesse worms, blk, wtrm red 1 pack hazedong shad 3' goby 1 pack spark shad purple haze.
  6. I really haven't had the best luck with them, but I like to challenge myself at times. To learn where and when to use certain lures. I enjoy experimenting with different stuff and learning my skills and weaknesses and improving on them.
  7. Some whopper ploppers and beast coast skirts.
  8. I don't get much free time outside of work, that's my home away from home. So I invest heavily in what I enjoy and that happens to be fishing. I go whenever I get the free time and can afford to sacrifice sleep, my son will be a year old this year so I am going to enjoy him and try to help my other two kids along with my wife to learn some more about fishing.
  9. I will second the tatula, there good reels for the money, the DC reels are nice I have one and use it occasionally. Although for the most part all of my other reels are non DC and I feel the extra money can help you get a higher quality reel or whatever else you need to go with.
  10. Thank you and I will. I was waiting for my local shop to get them in, I was in the backroom picking out the rods I wanted that were not labeled or on the shelves yet. I was talking to the guy about rods and look down at the boxes he was unpacking and I saw the reels, that's when I knew that I was leaving with a new reel also.
  11. Well I made it two days, this time consists of 1 megabass orochi xx perfect pitch 1 megabass orochi xx launcher 1 shimano Curado hg 150 mgl
  12. In my area I would say D&R sports center, I haven't ventured too far from Allegan, Kalamazoo County. Although I did stop at sportmans warehouse in Lansing while making a car payment, they had quite a bit of different rods that I haven't seen around here yet.
  13. I have been looking at these quite a bit, I noticed on one of the sites had a shallow spool for $110.00 I think.
  14. I might use it a little for frogging, I am thinking that it might be ok for some light punching and some 1.5oz grass jigs. I thought about waiting for the new ones to be released, but I figured why not give it a try. I have noticed that the new Expride rods have a different action to them, although I don't go off of what it says until it's in my hands and I can compare it to other rods in the store.I was highly considering buying a p5 destroyer rod, the x-bites but it just felt a little softer than what I was looking for.
  15. Thank you. Yes it is definitely on steroids.
  16. Picked up the last of my stuff on my order 1 NRX+ 894c Jwr 7'5 heavy fast 1 shimano expride A 7'3 xhvy fast 1 metanium b hg reel 7.1 ratio 1 daiwa zillion sv tw g 7.1 ratio I should be good for a minute, or maybe a second. The monkey is strong lol.
  17. Thank you. I have wanted to try the original nrx 894 but the only time I saw one local I didn't have the money. I recall hearing a lot about the 873 and legend glass rods being really good. It's been a little over a year since I saw one, so I had to grab it when I seen it this time. That brings my Loomis collection up to 5 rods now, 843 and 844mbr conquest, 894 JWR glx and now these two NRX+. It's slowly coming together. Now if only this ice would go to be able to test them out. Then add my last rod purchase before it iced up a st croix victory mh f I have five new rods to put through there paces. I am going to be very busy in a good way.
  18. Four rods St croix legend glass 7'2 medium moderate St croix legend xtreme 7'4 heavy fast NRX+ 873c crr 7'3 med heavy fast NRX+ 854c Jwr 7'1 heavy fast Still have a couple reels to get tomorrow.
  19. Some more Berkley max scent plastics 3 packs Lil general 1 pack Lil trooper 1 pack king tail 1 pack chigger craw Yep I might have enough max scent plastics to form my opinion on it this year, I have probably 50 or more other packs of maxscent assorted plastics lol.
  20. That's understandable. Yeah I have taken my low profile reels apart to service them and have found out the hard way that you need a space that's flat and well lit with no holes in the floor lol. First time doing it on a reel my friend gave me and I lost a washer in between the deck boards. I stole some parts from a reel I wasn't using and now it works. Thanks for the heads up on the worm gears.
  21. Thanks, I am sure that I will like it. I have been meaning to get another round reel for a while now. My last one I had was a Calcutta 400 on a musky rod, that started my appreciation of round reels.
