Thanks to you and John both but this is more to put this really high end rod stuff that everyone gets so heated about out of my head once and for all. As I mentioned in the first post Jimmy Whaley is one of the best tournament fisherman in Ga. and he says his Quest is better than Lommis , Allstar and the rest. I just want to compare for myself. I don't mind spending the money to really see if there is something I'm missing. It's kinda like the whole Senko thing I was sold on Yamamoto,but Russ turned me on to ***, I've been testing for more than a month to find out for myself. I have Allstar old and new and two custom Lommis i bought for a guy that fished tounament but thet must be lower end blanks they feel heavy and not that sensative.

Start back playing golf it way cheaper! ;D...go to tackle and there is a whole section on fishing Senko's....Short version ... Throw it out let it sit 15 to 30 seconds raise you rod tip and keep repeating it. As soon as you see you line move or feel a tap just lower your rod tip and let um feel the steel .....wacky works great.

My challenge is I will buy any rod that is recomeded but I need to why you like the rod you use.We have Kistler guys on here we have St.Croix guys, and Lommis to name three. I will pick the best post and purchase that rod next week. I fish with Quest right now a $30 Dick's brand I fish no less that 2 hours everyday....and catch an average of 7 per day so I will be able to give an unbias opinion. I will keep everyone up to date on how the challenge is going. Just want the facts this is not a debate.

I have one new Curado and 5 old ones I love my older Curado's you can get them on Ebay $70 to $100 great deal for a great reel.

Ok....after the Kistler post heres the deal. I have two custom G Lommis rods maybe? Bought them a coulpe of years ago from a guy hows son turned pro had them custom built. I now fish with ok don't laugh Quest for Dick's. I fish with Jimmy Wailey from Ga. all the you Ga. boys that fish tournaments will know who he is. Well that is what he swears by and he has a garage full of Lommis ,Castaway ,Allstar I'm taking a challenge.....Here it goes . I will buy any rod after I get response. now here's the deal don't just pick the most expensive one ....tell me why you choose it , where to buy it, and here's what I want it for. Worm an Jig fishing. I use 7 ft MH with a Curado cu200 reel. I will purchase the rod with the best responce and give and honest feed back. Now all you have to do is compete with a$30 Dick's brand rod thats easy enough.

That's what I was saying in the beginning....... "Give me an old bag of worms and a baitcaster then I will put fish in the boat" (Some people do well with spinning outfits but I've only casted a spinning rod a couple of times in my life...anything that the line goes on sideways looks like trouble to me. With a baitcaster I could rip your shirt pocket off without ever touching you ...... lol) I could not agree more. A couple of weeks ago I made a post of what 4 lures would you use if that was it. I have not fished with KVD but have watched him on tv alot. Yes he can finesse fish (sorry I've tried it and feel like I'm crappie fishing with my daughter....all you finesse guys don't get your panties in a wad I didn't say your a girl if you finesse fish) I just feel like a man cheerleader when I do it. KVD can jig fish , but every time I've seen him it's a spinnerbait or rattle trap. I bet if you followed RW around a while Senko or Fat Ika or Russ Alurring Salt Stick. I think this is all CATT trying to say keep it simple fish what you know.

Ever seen someone fish in a tournament using a flyrod?

Its 7 foot med fast action fiberglass. I use it mainly for rattle traps. What other lures would it be good for?......spinnerbaits ,top water?

Don't know who makes them but one of the best fisherman in Ga. uses them over Loomis,All Star, St.Croix ect which has all of the above in the corner in his garage. He swears by them for jig and worm fishing ....swears they are more sensative than all the above. Now I have two I'm trying them and they are still on my Curado's.

By far the best post since joining this forum.....I'm lost because this steers up alot of emotions. I played golf for a living for six years and taught golf for four years after that.I had a whole chapter writen about me in a book last years #1 best seller in golf and stood next to Tiger Woods on the practice tee at this years Masters while working with my best friend who qualified for winning the US Mid Am (this is not to build myself up....I walked away from golf 5 years ago to start a buisness...I just want to make a point and wanted to let you know I know what I'm talking about... no B.S.) Fishing like Catt and Badhabit are talking about is different than pro fishing I think we would all agree.The friend I mentioned above that played in this years Masters walked away from professional golf 5 yaers ago.We were coming back from a tournament in Kentucky and he said "I hate playing golf for a living it has taken all the fun out of something I love." Now this guy has IT! It being what it takes to play the PGA tour. This is what the difference is I think in alot of local guys that can really fish. Competing in local tournaments is fun but I really wonder how many KVD's ,Cunn's,and Swindles wake up every morning and really want to go fishing like I and most of you do. I think most of use on this forum would also trade 20 5lbers for 1 dd. So in a since we are all big bass hunters don't kid yourself!

I posted a early question and here is what I've learned and what has worked for me.....I throw a heavy jig or t rig lizzard 3\4 oz weight around the edges. Then I throw them right on top and work it in to the open holes.....be ready when they hit because they will come through the lilly pads and scare the living sh_t out of you so be ready ....you need to use braid because it's easy to break off......this has become really fun just watching them come through the pads.
