Big time bummer...
But let's keep using fertilizers and building in every square inch we can, right?

Big time bummer...
Stuffs no joke. Against my better judgment I went out a week or so ago in a lake I always fish, but had an odd algae look to it. Didnt look like BG so I shrugged it off. A week later I still have a rash on my behind

Do you still get excited?
During the week after work, absolutely. Super early on the weekend? Absolutely. Any time after 10am on a weekend, absolutely not. I'd rather stay home than deal with the psychos.

Gear change
When in doubt, throw a ned rig. Lol

Upper Pasquotank visit in August
Hey everyone, my girl and I are going to be moving to Elizabeth City in a few months, so we're taking a trip atbthe end of August to check out the area. Luckily for me, the Air BNB she booked is offering us Kayaks and bikes to use the time we are there. Its literally up the road from the pasq, I can see it from the porch. I'll be bringing a travel rod (MH F action) and a small box of tackle to play around with on down time. What should I bring for the area? Anything that stands out besides the standard senkos, neds, cranks etc that comes to mind? Thanks everyone!

Fighting Fish- the 'Sport' in Sportfishing
My whole thing stems from surf casting for big stripers. I want that fight over quick as possible so I can get big mama back on her way full of as little lactic acid as possible to aid in a better chance of living.. The fight is fun, absolutely, but I get more gratification out of "fooling" a bass with a piece of plastic, boating it and getting it back on its way before it can even think "I don't understand what just happened?"

Bass missing crankbait?
This is a good point as well. After switching all my trebles to Owner ST-36 or VMC round bends, absolutely no issues. Those owners are sticky sharp. Very hard to come unbuttoned.

Bass missing crankbait?
This is exactly why I switched to Copoly/mono for all my treble lures. Sufix Advanced copoly on my cranks and topwater. Just enough stretch to be forgiving but gives a great hook set. I only use braid/leader for neds and t rigged worms.

Fish activity during heatwave.
I've noticed not so much the action that changes, but the size and quality of fish. Cooler temps i normally see the bigger fish in my area. But dog days if summer i see a lot more of the scrappy smaller ones.

Light rain and wind made for a super eventful topwater bite yesterday morning. I've been playing around with Sufix Advance Copoly on my topwater set up, REALLY liking it so far. Super smooth, just enough stretch to be forgiving but able to set the hook well on a long cast. New VMC ST 36's as recommended by the forum too. Tied up some new tail hooks. All came together.

Advice for lure choice and fish location in HIGHLY stained water
Gold lipless cranks, white and chartreuse spinnerbaits with Colorado blades, or dark worms/neds.

Preferred treble hooks for topwater replacements?
Thanks for the info everyone! Picked up some ST 36's in size 6 and 1/16 owner ned rigs. Absolute upgrades. I should get some #4 treble too next chance I get.

Preferred treble hooks for topwater replacements?
I appreciate it everyone! I'll stick with owner, VMC and Gami then. While on the subject of hooks, does anyone make a 1/16 ned rig that doesn't have a junk hook? They bend out so easy.

PB today. Absolute unit for my area. 1/16 ned rig was the only thing they wanted. Bent out my hook. Lost her a few weeks ago at the boat when she broke me off. Not this time. Same conditions, place, time of day, same exact log. Mission accomplished.

Preferred treble hooks for topwater replacements?
Hey all, I had a question for you. Ive always been much more a surfcaster over freshwater fisherman so changing hooks and split rings was always a thing but I never put that effort into freshwater. Now that my primary focus switched, I wanna change the hooks that are worn/pulled on my topwaters (pop R specifically). What do yall prefer? Normally for salt id go VMC or owner, but I know nothing about smaller treble hooks. Are the Berkeley fusions any good?

Wacky Rig Fishing is EXPENSIVE
Stop using senkos. Theyre sooo brittle compared to other brands nowadays with similar characteristics. I use BPS Stick-os and yum dingers now. Those are pretty sweet, didn't know they existed. Ill have to try them.

First post in this topic, its been a solid July for me in my local lake here on Long Island. Been picking apart this lake weekly, it has a history of good fish but I've only caught (and seen caught) sub 1 lb fish regularly. I've been finding the bigger ones after playing with different offerings. Nice that the place is 10 min from my house. These were a week within eachother. Ned rigs crushed it. As well as drop shots spinnerbaits and poppers even RatLRaps.

War eagle hook bend overly aggressive?
Hey guys, I normally fish strike king, googan or other brand spinnerbaits but I saw war eagle had a good following and I didn't have any half ounce baits so I ordered one. Is it just me or is the hook bend on this overly aggressive? Is this normal on WE baits? I dunno im just not entirely sold on their quality right now. Gold plating seems kinda chincey, skirt is so so... am I missing something?

Good travel rod under $100?
Nah man not annoying! Its an option, just wanted to see if there's any options for a little less. I'm more concerned about getting my reels there with line on them.
