Are we sure they’re bass? I just went on a two week quest for what turned out to be carp on a flat in the middle of the lake… Arizona not there, but still.

Buzbe tackle storage, anyone try it out?
They have a massive issue. I just bought one, but they have a problem… These are just thrown in with all the boxes so I suspect their actual purpose is lost in the shuffle, these aren’t really designed to be a stackable system like our plano boxes are. I think they’re essentially a merger of an old school folding tackle box and a Plano style box. Mines going to be the island of misfit toys that don’t end up in any designated box. Chatterbaits, spinners etc. stuff I don’t run often but still have in the bag.

Megabass Triza ( Help pick a few )
Hey Winston! glad you posted, I am shopping as well, thinking about the heavier rods now. What has your experience been with your rods so far?

Old School to New School/New School to Old School
Alright, story time. Somewhere in college I pulled a OLD crank bait out of a tree and dropped it by the room of an art student whom I told to paint it like a bluegill. About a week goes by and I receive a text message to come over, so over I go to find the manifestation of an epiphany. Essentially the only thing the manufacturers have gotten better at is weight transfer systems and paint jobs. Now, that’s not really true. They’ve put a lot more science into their work than the old guys could, but the old guys had a lot more intuition and natural understanding of the environment they were throwing baits into. I honestly think it had to do with the way they were made, and a certain slight variance from lure to lure. Basically I guess what I’m working towards here is all of the best baits have been made in the last five years, but there is a legendary status, almost mythical power to be found among certain pieces that survive into the next era. I spent about an hour and a half trying to dive deep enough to reach that crank where it was stuck on a log a few summers back but it’s still down there I am sure, lost to all but the bass. Now when we get into plastics? If something is well stored I could reasonably think that anything in the Yamamoto era could compete with anything else given the correct conditions.

The Tokyo Rig!
I wouldn’t say the results vary drastically, what I would say is there’s more baits you can put on it than if it were a drop shot with one of those typical hooks. It’s basically a drop shot Texas rig hybrid… that you can throw swim baits on too.

The Tokyo Rig!
Been fishing it a lot the last couple weeks, so far so good, it’s everything a drop shot is, minus a little finesse but only just. Far easier to rig, cast and work, but far far more versatile.
