  1. What type moonglow light for seeing the bank at nite do you use? Better with them or without? Fishing timber I have to use one. What do you recommend?...thanks for any replies
  2. Would appreciate any user opinions on the LCD light called NiteIII's, (Night eyes). It doesn't use cigarette-type plug-in, so can I change it over to that type 12v plug? Can you see the bank OK enuff to fish timber in close at nite? Thanks... SWIFF
  3. If you're fishing from the banks, you are retrieving into the "crotches" of the tree if they are laydowns, instead of "with the direction of the limbs" like if you were in a boat throwing to shoreline. I'd stick to TW baits, plastics, and floating shallow cranks and feel the lure every time it ticked a limb and then let it float up briefley, then pull the lure gently through the maze. Or get a boat. Hope this helps save some money.
  4. I'm currently using a Curado 100B for jigs. Would it help reduce line coiling with a 200B? Thanks for all the input...SWIFF
  5. Heavy (15-20#) line coils like a slinky and a bass could swim 10 ft before I felt him, and braid is a nightmare when hung up, not to mention dangerous pulling hard to retrieve jig. Is 10# TOO light in laydowns and rocky bottoms in your opinion? Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft works good in 10-12# test as far as line memory goes, but not in the trees usually, and I lose fish. What do you use? Thanks.
  6. 30 yrs ago, I started using the football jig w/Uncle Josh pork trailer especially @ nite, Caught lots of NICE fish. Now I hardly ever use one because they just don't produce with plastic as well, so now I'm reading how everyone is producing good catches on plastic trailers all the time? I'm not giving up this yr tho. BTW, What is the shelf/usable life of Uncle Josh pork? Mine is yrs old. / swiff
  7. My CP doesn't show "contact" or my e-mail addy. Tried editing profile, to no avail. There's nothing there. Shows zero msgs, etc. but nothing relative to changing settings so far as I can see.
  8. Please tell me how to STOP notifications! I'm getting e-mails out the wazoo! I've done all the things BEFORE posting this msg, BTW, and I ain't gettin' anywhere! Swiff
  9. Fishing used to be cheaper than golf, but companies have discovered an absolute GOLD MINE where tackle Bling is concerned. I'm guilty, but not as much as most on the sites I lurk on. ;D
  10. Let me try again.....Bassers are like a bunch of crack ho's about the latest AWESOME bait some pro is sponsoring! ;D
  11. Bass fishermen are like a bunch of crack ho's about whatever some professional fisherman sez is "AWSOME." ;D

Back to RoLo's post about Yo-Zuri Ultra soft line....I even called BPS and told them to start carrying it as well as regular...FAgedabodit! They got their heads in a dark stinky place unless its Strike King stuff. >
  13. You get dirter junk off TV ads every day. I can only watch the Cartoon channel with my grandsons because of some of the "adult-oriented" crap that has apparently become the "norm."
  14. da bream tho, right? hanged if i can find it on cabelas site!
  15. Just noticed it's a 2" for ultra-light use....dang it. Oh well. back to the search engine.
  16. Thanks, and I even found it at Cabela's! Dang Bait Monkey....
  17. Where can you find a Thin N type CB in Black Crappie pattern besides the Storm slab (no action). I figure a flat sided CB in this pattern should be on every dealer site, but I can't find one anywhere. Thanks for any help. //SWIFF
  18. Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft 10# Buy in bulk spools Don't argue! I finally learned the expensive way using anything else in the type water I fish.
  19. My green pumpkin Zoom trick worms don't float! Why does yours? Always wondered 'bout that since the bubblegum, white, merth, etc do. What 4" worms DO float, please? I doubt I got any, as per usual. GET THE BEHIND ME, BAIT MONKEY....(and push). //SWIFF
  20. 6# on Scorpion & Curado 100's for daytime (Except in the timber) 15# on Curado 200's @ nite (Except for CB's) 6# handles about all I catch normally. (Knock wood) And by the way, I'm getting rid of all the other crappy lines taking up space now!
  21. Sounds good, esp w/wind in winter. Thought ya hadda go with eighth oz or whatever and it takes forever getting it down where I'm marking fish on structure. Ever use baitcasting tackle with 'em? How's that working if so?
  22. What's your usual size from shallow to 20+ ft. Thanks
  23. RW...The break strength is nearly double the 6# label and it IS tuff to break. Abrasion resistance may be an issue, but the chunky 3#'er on a Shimano 2000 rig sure came outta some gnarly stuff, but I'm so danged awkward w/spin I can't fight the fish for fighting the outfit. Gonna try reversing the handle and trying it w/right handed retrieve. BTW, spooled up the Scorpion with the 6# and a Shakey rig and it felt GOOOOOD with the Crucial Med w/F tip 6'10" rod. Casted great too. Still, I do think you're right on the mark about light line and drags on S reels, But I found out from this site today I can swap drag washers from the Curado 100, so gonna try that just in case I stumble on a toad and need the better drag to turn his head. Thanks for the advice/ SWIFF
  24. Wellll...with gin-clear water and low water level/temp, it seems to be the only way I can get bit! I just roll the dice as far as getting 'em to the boat! Thanks
  25. RW-others....Bought a bulk spool of Ultra-Soft 6# with a line diameter of .10. Can this # and diameter work on a Scorpion 1000 4x4 svs baitcaster for shakey head fishing so I don't have to use spinning outfit? Are the spool-to-frame tolerances tight enough to keep line from getting behind spool? Anyone ever use this set-up? That U.S. 6# is STOUT stuff! How bout this line on Curado 100B Reels? (better drag) Thanks...SWIFF.
