It is a 6'3" rod and I can't seem to find many of those kicking around. I love the length and action. I maybe I could use the warranty to fix it just before it runs out or something. Hey everyone, Just bought my first high end rod. The tip guide isn't in line with the rest of the guides. The problem is minor and almost certainly cosmetic but it is driving me nuts. I have $50 rods with straight guides. Am I making too much of this? Please.... (the rod isn't readily available, especially where I live so exchanging it is unfortunately out of the question.) This is what I was told by the dealer "You can use a warranty but it's valid only in Japan. So, if you send the item back to us, we will go ahead with the repair process instead of you. In case that, the shipping charge for a round trip and the deductible must be paid by you." What was your experience? Thanks!

Yes, that is a fair point. If I were to accidentally crush the tip it would cost me $170CAD to ship it back to japan for a replacement. That would almost equal the cost of the Destroyer rod.... but man, I cannot stomach paying that much for a fishing rod. I bet I'd love it tho!

They do accept paypal. I don't know much about paypal, I will look into said protections, thanks! The company has all the social media you'd expect (going back to 2015 or so) and has reviews. I've been chatting with someone there. It does seem legit. They take all major credit cards so I'd be covered there as well.

I'm not so much interested in deep diving into the madness of JDM tackle goodness but I do want to buy a rod that I will really enjoy. Locally the top end of what I can buy is BPS and St. Croix Premiere and neither have what I'm looking for. I purchased 2 rods in 2020, a Levante Whipsnake and a 7' Zodias MH. The Zodias is crazy light but the construction was sloppy and it was much heavier than I imagined it to be, basically feels like a HXF in hand. The Whipsnake is perfect though, attention to detail is perfect and the action/power is spot on to its rating. Thus I'm partial to MB at this point. It sounds like I can still use the MB warranty so long as I pay to ship it back and forth to Japan if I ever need to replace or repair the rod. Expensive. So I guess it is either take a chance importing the XXX Oneten or I bite the bullet and pay for the Destroyer Eliminator or Cyclone, both of which are more than I want to spend. I love you. Give me more! I've never spent more than $300 CAD on a rod so a Destroyer seems insane to me tbh. I'm open to being convinced though. ?

Looking at the Levante Jerkbait Special vs the Zodias 6'10 Medium. Anyone experienced with both have a preference? How do the actions differ? Which is more versatile? Weight, feel, fit and finish etc? Also open to hearing about experiences with the Orochi XX and Expride versions. Thanks!

These are the three rods I'm looking at for my next purchase. Basically for jerkbaits and topwaters, possibly even small chatterbaits.. Thoughts on the actions of these? Just bought the whipsnake. I wish I could have had them both in hand before choosing but sometimes you just have to weigh your gut against the impressions of kind strangers. ? Thank you for your thoughts. I've read over this post a number of times. I'm looking for a spinning rod to cover finesse applications, primarily dropshot, ned, neko, but possibly wacky worms, light lipless/balsa cranks and even jerks etc. Basically trying to decide between whipsnake, shakeyhead and ML zodias... sounds like the Shakeyhead is out. Judging by rating the whipsnake is the lighter, and therefor prefered rod, but you say the ML zodias is actually the lighter rod? Just bought a MH Zodias casting rod 2nd hand and it is far heavier/stiffer than I imagined, feels like a H to me..... figured I can sell it for what I paid for it if I don't like it but this made me a bit hesitant to order the ML zodias (plus the specs would indicate it to be the stiffer/heavier rod. Thoughts? Also, I hold my spinning rod between pinky and ring so the zodias grip seems more suited to me... but I could adjust. I just fear the zodias being too stiff and overpowered for my intented applications.

I just got offered a 7 ft med/heavy zodias for a great price. If it was a 6'10 or 7ft medium id be all over it. Whats the taper like on these? I fish mostly open, clearwater and dont need alot of power.

what would be the difference in those rods other than an extra 2 inches?
