Orochi XX Shakyhead & Expride B 7'M
Thanks for this. Interesting on the lifetime replacement policy, must have missed that. Good to know.

Orochi XX Shakyhead & Expride B 7'M
Anyone have experience with these models? Looking for a higher-end spinning rod for wacky rigs, small keitechs, tubes, drop shots, nekos, etc. Probably a "can't go wrong" situation but outside of the warranty (MB>Shimano) I'm wondering if there's anything to separate them, or anything to know that wouldn't be known from just the specs. Can't get my hands on either but looks like both would be good with using either a split-grip or forward-grip. TIA

Spatterdock Fishing
Nice. Curious if you fish that on straight braid due to the pads?

Spatterdock Fishing
Thread resurrection as the pads here in South Jersey are starting to grow clear out of the water. I had lots of success on a frog earlier in the summer, but now it's impossible to walk anything across them. I guess this calls for punching, although the pads are typically in such shallow water (w/ soft bottom) that I wonder if too heavy a weight will work effectively once it clears beneath the spatterdock. I've worked a swim jig around the edges but need to figure out a setup for getting in the thick of it.

Yes. Seeing photos of the new version on social now.- The latest sale thread
Omnia has $60 off Vanfords for PRO members.- Fluke setup
Monitoring... still pretty torn on spinning vs baitcasting for both flukes and 3.3 and smaller keitechs.- The Frog Fishing Thread
I love the Head Turner for buzzbaits, swim jigs, and medium-large topwaters. Very versatile rod.- The Frog Fishing Thread
After missing probably my first ten blowups on a frog, I adjusted my setup and now having a lot more success. I was previously using a 6'9" H/F rod, and switched to a 7'2" megabass levante perfect pitch. Not sure if it's the added length picking up more line, or the action, but I'm landing a ton more now. Quickly becoming my favorite way to catch them. Very addicting and works in the heat of the day. And the blowup + jacking em on the hookset is simply too much fun.- VMC Cross Over Rings : Proper Sizing
Agreed on the 5mm for 5" senkos wacky/neko rigged. Big fan. I did see a guy on YouTube who uses 6-7mm's for keeping his keitechs on jigheads better, and tearing less. Places it on the swimbait where the hook will come out, and then threads the swimbait on the jighead like normal. Punch the hook thru the crossover ring and the ring helps lock it in place I guess.- Summer is here
The majority of lakes around me here in South Jersey are pretty shallow, whiskey-color tannic, and full of pads. I actually like summer because it makes the fish pretty predictable. Fishing the pads is somewhat brutal, the gnats are horrendous. But the big ones are in there.- Double Uni or Alberto Knot for Leader Knot ?
I can tie a double uni knot very easily so I use that. Has never failed me. But it's fatter through the guides, no doubt about it. I tried the Alberto for a couple months but had two unravel on me. Obviously I did something wrong. I swore I put the braid "back thru the same way it entered" but alas it came undone. I'll give it another go. It is thinner which is nice.- Ultimate junk fishing rod: 5" Senko to 6" Magdraft
I love that as a kayak angler I have three rods already mentioned ITT... Perfect Pitch, Head Turner, and Tat Elite Skippin Jig. All great rods.- What Rods are staples for you Kayak
I almost always bring: - M/F spinning rod (this is the rod I probably fish the single most) - M/M topwater/jerkbait rod - MH/MF rod w/ braid (swim jigs, buzzbaits, larger spooks) - MH/MF rod w/ fluoro (chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, 3.8"+ keitechs, speed worm) - MH/F (texas rigs and 3/8oz jigs) - H/"XF" (Frogs, 1/2oz+ jigs, 6" magdrafts) I have a M/M crankbait, a ML spinning, and a glide/swimbait rod each that I only bring occasionally.- Lews Baitcaster Reels - Why So Many Models
Lews naming convention for their reels always confused me. They all somehow sound exactly the same.- The latest sale thread
Omnia did specifically use "closeout offer" in their creative... ICAST release? Pure speculation, there are many here much more in the know than me.- The latest sale thread
Omnia running a sale on Tatula SV's. Tatula SV and Tatula SV TW103 are both $129.99 and only $104.99 for PRO members. I just got two Shimano baitcasters and now the monkey is shrieking at me again.- The latest sale thread
A little curious about this one… I just ordered a brand new Curado M and Curado MGL 150 on ALF and each were 20% off. Hmm.- The latest sale thread
Called 'em up and they're hooking me up with the rebate. They also retroactively added Legacy Elite points to my account since I guess I got signed out halfway through the order somehow. Great. Service.- The latest sale thread
When you bought a used rod on March 14th and see the promo start the very next morning. (Megabass Levante Perfect Pitch btw I couldn't resist)- The latest sale thread
Just checked and yes when I hit "login" nothing happens.- The latest sale thread
Those brands restrict retailers from running sales on their products as a policy.- The latest sale thread
I think I'm taking the swim/glide bait plunge and getting a Dobyns Fury 795SB. On backorder w/ ALF but that's ok. Bait Monkey is going to be THRILLED with this one. A new addiction begins. - The latest sale thread
