  1. I have used it this whole fishing season on my worm rod. I use KVD line and lure conditioner and have had no handling problems with the line. I would have no problem using it again.
  2. http://www.acadiasports.com I just bought one of these and for $70 it looks very good
  3. Most of my fishing is also on a hp restricted lake(25). In March I purchased a Lowe stinger 160 w/25hp Mercury 4 stroke. It will go about 22mph with one person and about 18mph with 2 people. I thought this was pretty slow but when on the lake only a few boats seem to go faster. I fish in a weekly bass tournament on the lake and several fishermen have a Tracker 175 and they perform similar to mine. I think you would be fine with that setup. After your warranty expires you could possibly do some mods to your motor to get more speed.
  4. Did you zero out the scale before you weighed the fish? Or did you zero it out with the fish on the scale?
  5. The XRIII is supposed to mount without drilling holes.
  6. I've got one. Thanks for the heads up
  7. They don't have ball-bearing swivels
  8. I installed it about 1 ft from the bulkhead. Its horizontal or a little downhill to the bulkhead so no water should stay between the check valve and the bulkhead. On the valve it states it takes 1/2 psi to open the valve so I'm hoping it doesn't overwork the pump. When I checked to see if the pump would still pump water out of the bilge by filling the bilge with hose water, it seemed to work fine.
  9. I found a well pump check valve at Lowes and it seems to work. I put the hose up to it and no water backfeeding in. I also filled the bilge with water to make sure the pump could still pump out-OK. Will give it the test on the water this weekend.
  10. Open it up and check the brushes. I had an evinrude trolling motor doing the same thing-replaced the brushes and its still going.
  11. I had the same problem-speedometer tube loose
  12. I have a 16ft Lowe. The bilge pump disharge hole is located very near the waterline and when someone is fishing on the back deck on the side where the discharge is, the discharge hole goes below the waterline. Water then backfeeds through the pump and starts to fill the bilge with water. Has anyone come across a check valve, or other solution that could be inserted into the bilge tubing to prevent this?
  13. When my kids were younger they had a hard time staying in the boat when we stopped to fish. They would usually fish for about five minutes before they became bored and wanted to go swimming. I once caught a 3lb and 5lb bass on consecutive casts with the girls splashing and having a good time less than 10 ft away. Everybody was having fun!
