1989 Bass Tracker Water Under Dash

Featured Replies

Has anyone had a problem with a Bass Tracker boat having water come in under the dash/instrument panel while driving?  A pretty steady stream of water is flooding our feet while driving and we can't figure out how it's coming through the boat and down from the dash.

Any ideas?

Where's the livewell at in the boat?

Is there a cooler in front of the dash?

Is the boat covered while in storage?

Is this water problem there anytime you're running or just if it's rough?

Have you been able to indentify exactly where under the dash the water is coming from?

I don't have a Tracker but I have had the speedo tube get loose and had a fair amount of water come in from that.

yeah I agree with NBR

It might be the speedo tube.

Also had the same problem, cracked speedo tube - wet legs. Cut off the bad section -problem solved.

If you have a water pressure guage I would investigate that first. I had the same problem last year.

Thanks for all of the replies!

The boat sits outside but under a cover and does not get wet.

Where's the livewell at in the boat?

There are two livewells both behind the driver's seat

Is there a cooler in front of the dash?

No cooler in front of the dash.

Is the boat covered while in storage?

Yes, the boat is covered.

Is this water problem there anytime you're running or just if it's rough?

Any time I'm running.

Have you been able to indentify exactly where under the dash the water is coming from?

I haven't been able to find where it is coming from.

Some have asked about the speedometer tube.  I haven't checked that but will.

Thanks again!
