San Francisco Canyons BFS Kayak Expedition
Went fishing on a very peculiar sport, our local river canyon system. Peacock basses there tend to remain on deeper waters, inside caves in the canyons walls. Used two BFS setups, with the Kestrel Elite and Calcutta Conquest 51 Custom BFS.

The braided line dilemma
I fish with 0.08mm/lb braided and never experienced it. Actually never saw line digging into baitcasters.

Abu Garcia Revo Ike, worth it?
It's somewhat pricey, but a very decent doyo reel. Blow out any Shimano in the same price range, over build quality.

Show off your Stuff
Twitchbaits are my favorite lure. They accept every single work, some of them even giving a slightly wiggling, when cranked. My basic strategies for them avries between the classical twitching, jerking and slashing. The ones are floating/topwater. Cast, twitch-jerk-slash, floating, repeat... The darting action makes Peacock basses crazy! The two lures in the right corner are a popper-dogwalker/jumping minnow hybrid and a glow crankbait.

Rod Advice: Versatile Casting Rod
You will need just a M/F and a M rod, to cover most, if not all, situations for baitcasting. The bottom fishing itself guide the size you will choose for each rod.

Additional Tactics Used with Jerk Bait Rod ?
Topwater stickbait work, dog walking, twitch bait jerking / Slashing... Here we call the topwater stickbait work "Catimba". Don't know how it is called on US... Starting at 1:18. How you call it?

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
I like Doyo drag washers too: This is the Doyo reel I reported before. This is after it fought and won against a smaller Tarpon.

Ok. Thanks. Sorry again for unintentionally hitting you before.

Upgrading Finesse Rod
How ML rods can be labeled finesse-friendly? I know Shimano underrates its ML rods as BFS... Want to upgrade? Go after true finesse rods. Major Craft Benkei, Speedstyle, Daiwa Salamandura...

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
Good, I was surprised since I tend to agree with you, and now over the drag washer too. Would love to know about the material of the carbon-like one.

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
Are you still mad about the post with ''pathetic''? Sorry! You were hit unintentionally. Why not? How it could be compared to the riveted one?

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
No. We are talking about people making excuses for companies lowering quality on fishing gear. Liking don't equate to downplay bad quality control pratices.

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
Fanboysm itself is pathetic.

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
And I can't stand the fanboys who defend such instances, it's just unbelievable and pathetic, in the same proportion.

Acutally which material makes the drag in OP reel?

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
Not only that, it is making it harder for the enthusiast user to maintain his own reels. The magsealed ***, using resin to difficult access to screws...

Diawa 150 tatula yearly service. Come on man
It's way older. It first appeared in Japan in the mid-90's. I'm talking about the CT from the Tatula CT. Another older one is the 103 frame.

The CT frame is more than 30 yr old...

And are fully right in your complaints. We could easily say it was for giving a competitive price range for the reel, but it's in the pricier side of things. We need to be more conscious and demanding over gear quality. Do you know the red drag washer material?

Shimano stuff
You're welcome. Latest update from Brazil. A friend of mine used a MH setup, with a 17lb rod and a Brazilian OEM brand (Marine Sports) reel (Lubina GTX), made by Doyo. https://www.marinefishing.com.br/produto/lubina-gtx-black-widow-7839.html The highspeed, aluminium-geared reel fought a mid-sized Tarpon. When they were putting it in the boat, the dip net teared and it escaped. Later, it fought and landed a BIG Crevalle Jack, after more than 30 min of fight. I have the picture and videos of this fight. The Tarpon was caught when trolling (he is insane!) but the Crevalle Jack was using micro-jig, lift and drop. The reel performed flawlessly, in a very unfavorable situation. I have a footage from the fight with the Crevalle Jack. Decent gear supports an occasional abuse. Dealt with it...
