Going to the "secret pond" tomorrow with a friend for the morning and most of the day hopefully will post pics of a new pb???? keep up the good work jay and everyone else The one day I did not talk about was the 2 dinks and a sunfish night with my buddy(who caiht a nice 3 pound smallie in deep water). Otherwise, yeah, I've been doing pretty well since I learned to fish plastics (a lot of the thanks goes to wagn for teaching me how to fish that stuff!) One thing I've noticed here in NH is that the LM's seem to be starting to get shallow, and the SM's are still fairly deep for the most part. I've caught all my 2+pound SM's in deeper water, and all my 2+ pound LM's in shallow water the last couple weeks. Seems to be holding true no matter where I go in the Southwest corner of the state. Plastics are all i use this time of year c-rig lizrds plus it doesn't really matter if you lose them cause they come in packages of 9 for the ones i get. About the LM's being shallow i'll try that out tomorrow at the spot, but its a tiny pond so it should be realitively easy to find and hook into the bigguns of the pond, well hopefully at least, will post the pics.

Well what started out to be just going over a friends house to practice for opening day for archery the 15th turned out to be a decent day of fishing and finding my new fav spot. After a while of shooting my friend asked if i had my fishing gear with me and he took me to a spot he had seen driving by but never tried. So we went out in the inflatable and half hour into hooked a small LMB and didn't really have high expectations for the small pond, little later reeling in my c rig lizard it was less than a foot from the boat and i turned away for a second and heard a huge splash something went for it but missed . Not long after i was slowly reeling in and BAM huge strike start reeling in see the head on this larry and it was huge, he jumps out of the water and i got a good look at the fish it was easily the biggest i'd ever gotten , but he spits it out before he hits the water again . Tie the line again and a few casts later, BAM theres the big strike again drag starts screaming go to adjust the drag and snap. AAAGGHHH!!!! But i am 99% sure that within a couple weeks i'll be posting some pics of my new p.b. . will keep you posted

whats been good for you guys for smallies im going to somewhere tomorrow where theres only smallies no largemouths and i've only caught 1 smallmouth this year on a c-rigged lizard should those work?

Fished sunset lake last night from 6-9ish using c-rig lizards, started off using watermelon seed but as it got darker the bite died down so tried out using a purple lizard and that did the trick, still can't get bit for the life of me using topwaters Heres a pic of the biggest last night nothing special though just over 2 #s. Heres a smaller one As far as the nh get together i have a wedding to go to also on 9/8, but starting the week after that i work saturdays again but not until 4 or 5pm so could have sometime for it or we could do it on a sunday and 99% of sundays im free for it.

Fished sunset lake again tonight for a couple hours kinda slow but a couple of 2lbers heres one of them. Also would any of u guys be interested in having a fishing get together for the nh people on this site, if so when could u guys do it and where should we have it. i would like to have one this year hopefully before i start school again but if not thats fine. I will be going to cabelas within a couple weeks and i would like to buy some lures for northern pike because i will be going to skatutakee lake in nh soon after the trip. What should i buy for lures for pike(brands, colors,...) thanks.

I am going to be going to cabelas and hopefully bass pro too in a couple weeks and was wondering what kind of lures are working for you guys or what you would reccomend me getting (brands, colors,...) Also i will be getting a new rod/reel combo due to my car door ;D. What would you recommend or what should i be looking for for a combo i do mostly bass fishing but i will be doing some pike fishing soon after i return from cabelas also any tips on what to buy for pike? thanks guys.

I was there until just before 7 30, must have just missed eachother when i left i saw the 3 ppl getting the canoe ready, only got a couple small ones from shore. were u fishing from shore?

Its not a 1 man inflatable it holds 4 ppl, its a seahawk 400 inflatable boat its just like any other canoe/jon boat i wouldn't get wet that should be fine right? Take heed all that fish Canobie lake in Salem/Windham. Since this is Salem's water supply, they are very strict about enforcing the "No Human Contact with the Water". The signs are posted and are enforced, I have read in the paper where Water Front residents in Windham(who do not get their water from the lake) have been fined for taking a swim on a hot day. So unless your inflatable 1 man boat permits you to stay totally dry I would rethink the idea of bring this type of boat into Canobie Lake. Im just giving all here a warning dont want to hear about you guys getting into trouble. Good luck and tight lines.

went to reservoir today but got nothing, for a place where theres no swimming there sure are a lot of people that swim there. Wasn't even fishing for 10 mins and people started swimming jumping off the rope swings there which i found odd because theres no swimming but theres 2 rope swings?????? u ever have that problem nhguy? Also, hows the fishing at canobie i've heard good stuff from this site, are there good spots there that are not that far from the boat ramp because i would be with a friend in a inflatable boat, any tips ????? thanks

My friend has a Sea Hawk 400 which are cheaper than the sea eagles and i think its just fine for fishing smaller lakes/ponds very affordable too. Takes maybe 10 mins to inflate and i think you'd have to actually stab it to pop it i doubt it'll pop just by barely scratching witha hook. I would recommend this.
