Welcome from another newbie.

The worse I ever had it with mosquitos was in Greenland when in the service. There aren't many warm blooded creatures up there so they were glad to see me.

My PB for LM came when I was much younger and didn't mind getting up at 4 AM to get to the lake at sun up. It was at a small pond that fed into a lake on the other side of railroad tracks and casting a purple Creme worm at some lily pads. The bass went 8 lbs. and now hangs on the wall. I quit after I caught it. No sense looking for more and bigger. This was in1973.

With all the stuff I have accumulated over the years, I habitually use but a few that I have had success with in the past. The rest takes up space.

I had a fiberglass rod break once at the metal ferrule and I was able to dig the piece out of the ferule, cut off some of the broken end of the rod and sand it down and then glued it back into the ferule. It ended up an inch or two shorter but usable. I made ice fishing rods at times too.

Greetings from the northeastern part of Pennsylvania. I’m retired and getting up in age, and don’t fish as much as I used to. I sold the boat and kayak, and now fish the Susquehanna River and some nearby lakes close to home. It’s not about the biggest and the most caught these days, but just getting out; relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
