Except when those places are beaten to death anyways because they are obvious places that hold fish. Everybody wants to think they have the secret spot lol

Folks should watch Ben Millikens most recent videos. He's literally showing it all while fishing BASS open events. To the most minute aspect. His belief is that the fish most likely won't be there the next time anyways. He's a big believer in fish being moved by pressure. The more I fish, the less I believe in "honey holes". Depending on the year, month, weather, and a million other things, almost any place under the water can be a honey hole for a period of time. If I fished famous public lakes though I'd still blur pics lol, Milliken is just a weird dude ?

Double Duty Rod Question
Alpha Angler Chatterbound was a game changer for me. Has a glass tip. If it moves, it excels at it. I mainly throw chatterbaits on it because that's what I bought it for, but anytime I use it for cranks, blade baits, tail spinners, spinnerblades, I'm thrilled with it's properties.

It's been a minute since we connected, he went big time which was incredible to witness. I met him in 2008 when he was selling triggers out of his basement, became a lucky early product tester before folks really knew about his triggers, and really the first SMR rails. I've been out of the 2A stuff to some degree once I got that big Bass fever again back in August. I tend to obsess on one thing lol. Again congrats on that PB brother, the allure and feeling of accomplishment of catching a big Bass is just priceless. You're 100% right about the addiction to them. One can't deny their narcotic effect. I start floating on air the minute I catch one, everything about the catch almost seems like a blur, colors are brighter, sounds crisper, if that's not a narcotic I don't know what is ?

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Great summary and I agree. I love JD, he's a hate or love type character. He was a fantastic glove and could really catch fire at the plate.

Post a photo a day!
LOL.....I've got at least half a dozen of them on my homelake that are roosting in similar areas. They won't move, but don't get too close.

Who's the man, you're the man!!!! Congrats brother! What a truly magnificent fish! Bill Geissele is a friend of mine, incredibly generous and talented man. I love those hats. Nice Woody, I'd like to catch one of those flatheads some time. It's always a good day in my book when I catch by product fish.....odd, but it's thrilling every time. Even big bream are so fun when you aren't fishing for them.

There was a thread months ago talking about future goals in fishing, and I said I'm going to really dedicate a huge portion of my summer to throwing buzzbaits at night. It's hard for me not to throw those big baits, but over the last week + I've been throwing it more and more. Today I threw it for 4hrs, 12 fish blew it up, 5 fish were hooked at least briefly, 2 fish were landed, and one fish was a real gem. I'm trying out various Buzzbaits, and today I tried a Dirty Jigs Scott Canterbury Pro Buzz Buzzbait Version 2 I just bought the other day. First day throwing it. It's naked out of the box, so I figured I'd just recycle a 5.5" HogFarmer Missile Baits Spunk Shad in the BHite Delite. Same bait caught two 5lb class fish on the back of a Bhite delite Jackhammer. Turns out the Spunk Shad makes a fantastic Buzzbait naked trailer. I'm going to try and add a trailer hook next time out which should solve the abysmal hookup percentages, I hook 80-90% of the fish on the other ones Ive got. I just run a skirt and trailer hooks on my other models. She had a fresh beat up tail, still had plenty of girth, my guess is she was on bed. Love those bug eyes as Jar said. Super exciting strike almost right when it landed so it made for a really fun fight too.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Agree to disagree on Dansby. But time will tell the real story on him. The soul less corporate owners in CO better hope he doesn't hit .275 with 25hr/100 rbi though. My all time favorite Braves play.....Charlie Clutch is my favorite Brave.

Man that's sounds like an absolute blast! Now I get to be extra excited for a game as well.....I always love it when my friends are at games I'm watching. It's only about 2hrs to go see them from here. I'd love to see them play at every ballpark in the country. No other sport can compare to MLB parks imho.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
I think everybody including myself was wrong on Dansby the first several years. Ultimately he grew in to one of the best leaders in MLB, easily one of the best gloves in MLB, and finally became a .275+ hitter. He was always clutch even during the bad years, but he put it all together last year. I hope he proves the Braves wrong, but I'm 50/50. Not sure if Yates is ever going to recover fully, he should be gtg by now. ETA: How about that WBC......broke my heart when they lost, but man what an overall fantastic tourney. I was already a Trea Turner fan, but wow is he a dynamite player. 5 tool player that looks like the average athletic joe.

The Beer Is Brewing, The Trash Is Flying, and The Race For The Pennant Is On!
Thanks for bumping this thread, I was just thinking about it while watching the game. Olson is on STRAIGHT FIRE! He came out of Spring training with the most HRs IIrc. Ozuna even hit a bomb lol. I'm still sick over Dansby, much more than Freddie. He was a true professional leader above all else, hopefully either Riley or Olson can fill those leadership footsteps. Strider is just must watch TV as a baseball fan. I'm not sure how long his career will last, but man he's electric. I said I was done with the Braves after Dansby, here I am like an addict with my hand out ?

Fantastic, windy here in central AL as well. If I'm lucky I'll get to catch a Smallie this year. N AL, S TN is paradise for a Bass angler, DD LGMs on Guntersville/Chickamauga, abundant 5lb+ Smallies throughout the TVA lakes, and sprinkled in are Alabama Spots in just about every major body of water.

I miss your fish so much, always so healthy and rich in color. If I were a Bass, I wouldn't mind living in Maine ?

Thanks for the really kind words, Eric! I'm the same way, I've bought baits because of folks here, and then learned to use them better by reading, or seeing how they fish them.

What is a " search bait " ?
What is a Flashback Mini in 1/8th oz with a 3" Armor Shad Alex A search bait is one that covers lots of water fast, isn't necessarily meant to catch tons of fish, rather find fish. Once you get a bite, follower, etc., you stop and pick the area apart with other better baits. A big swimbait is a really great search bait as well. Just my opinion obviously.
