  1. I have both and they're both good reels, but I like the Revo better than the Curado. With that said, I like the Revo STX better than the Premier.
  2. I bought my books today. I was able to find one used book. My total was $231. I talked to a coworker who is also going to school and we agreed to flip-flop classes next semester so we can just trade books.
  3. No, I had a guy who was supposed to sell me his used books, but that didn't work out. Now it's too late to try to order books. Classes start on Monday. Oh well.
  4. Why in the world do text books cost so much? I am going to night school to try to finish what I started nearly 20 years ago. I'm taking two classes and paying $250 for books. I guess I shouldn't complain because Uncle Sam is covering 100% of the tuition.
  5. This is what I'm trying to do. It's a Lowrance unit and an antenna of unknown origin. I just don't know if I would be wasting my time trying to rig a connection.
  6. I can understand your frustration, but Burleytog has a point. I once sold an item on this site, shipped it the same day, and I emailed the tracking number to the buyer. For some reason the tracking number didn't show up on the UPS website and the UPS store I used closed for a the weekend before I was able to get any resolution. Turns out that since I dropped it off on a Friday afternoon, it didn't ship until Monday morning. The tracking number didn't show up because the item hadn't been shipped. Fortunately, the buyer remained patient until Monday when I was able to figure out what had happened. I am glad that I didn't sell that item to you!
  7. Are external GPS antennas interchangeable? I realize that the connections will be different, but aren't the antennas themselves basically the same same thing regardless of make and model? The reason I'm asking is because I have aquired an antenna that is not meant for my unit. If I can find a way to connect it will it work?
  8. That's pretty cool! Where were you fishing? I was unable to find many fishing opportunities when I was in the ROK.
  9. I think bass-turd has a better ring to it!
  10. I like to fish them anytime I see schools of fish busting shad on the surface in open water. The largest bass often sit on the bottom and pick up the falling shad that the schooling fish have killed or injured. I don't give them much action at all. I just let it sink to the bottom and drag it behind the drifting boat. If the surface is calm, I'll reel it in very slowly and give it an occasional twitch or hop. The bite is usually very subtle, the line suddenly just feels heavier. Mattshads work well for this too.
  11. I am leaving Texas in a few months and I feel like I need to fish both of these lakes before I leave. I have a long weekend and I think it's time to check the block on one of them. I don't know much about either of them. I live an equal distance between the two, so distance is not a factor. I haven't really kept up with the fishing reports lately, so I'm hoping some of you can point me in the right direction. If you could fish either Choke Canyon or Lake Fork this weekend, which one would you choose?
  12. Kind of a "match the hatch" scenario!
  13. I've only used the 17lb, but it seemed like good line to me.
  14. Looks like an awesome lure. What is the best way to fish it? Please include rod action/power, reel speed, line type, water temp, water clarity, moon phase, barometric pressure, etc...
  15. My favorite craw style trailer is the Zoom Speed Craw.
  16. For a good laugh, check out www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com
  17. She may be trying to off you with all that unhealthy food!
  18. Why? Just curious.
  19. The town I live in is about halfway between Belton Lake and Stillhouse Hollow. I can be on either one in about 15 minutes. These two lakes are so good that I usually don't feel the need to fish anywhere else. Belton is a numbers lake with some great smallmouth fishing. HitmanFO is right about Stillhouse. It regularly takes 30 plus lbs to win a tournament and it's been referred to as "the Lake Fork of central Texas".
  20. Is anyone involved in the American 150 tournaments that ABA is sponsoring for boats with 150 max HP? I like the idea and I hope it catches on. Right now there are just a few divisions and they're all in the southeast.
