  1. well if it was "right up there with the dark knight", i will be sure to avoid it, cuz that movie SUCKED!!!
  2. DEFINITLEY! the mohawk in combination with the enormously oversized sunglasses make it very epic. glad you guys had a good day. you should see my glasses, they are like avid's. they fit over my perscription glasses.
  3. yeah it WAS the haircut that did it, you should have a mohawk by the weekend!! really tho, i figure if he wants one then it is better he have it now rather than when he is 19 and trying to find a job. Cliff
  4. took my nephew out for an hour or so this evening. he beat me bad. i managed two dinks and he nailed these two nice ones. he reeled them in all by himself and everything. we used watermelon red trick worms, t-rigged weightless. and yes, that is a mohawk. i asked him how he wanted his hair cut, thats what he wanted, thats what he got!! 6. sorry to hear it. i know how you feel.
  7. The Goonies is my alltime favorite i also enjoy...Star wars, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jet Li flicks, Brad Pitt flicks. but The Goonies trumps them all!!
  8. i dont mind the steel toes, but my company requires them. i have looked at boots similar to those you posted, but i am not much into that "western" style. plus i gotta have laces.
  9. safety hazard? how so? the steel is still intact. ;D
  10. thanks for the info guys, but after wearing the boots around for the day today, i took them back. terribly uncomfortable. and i am just not willing to deal with that for who knows how long it will take to break them in. i managed to find identical georgia boots online, after alot of searching. i will continue to wear the ones above until i can save up for those. thanks again Cliff
  11. i have had great luck on the lake fork live magic shad
  12. i have caught one before with a hook in it. but one time in minnesota i was wallaye fishing, the stupid northern pike kept grabbing my minnow and cutting my line with their sharp teeth, and stealing my jighead. so i put on a steel leader and a big ol bucktail. i caught a small pike right away, but before i released him i got four of my jigheads back from his face!!
  13. anyone wear these? any info about them, durability? comfort? break in period? i bought a pair today to replace my old georgias, if they still made these georgias i would have bought another pair in a second. anyway i am just wondering if these wolverines will withstand the beating they are about to receive. if they look like this in less than five years, i will be disappointed
  14. my folks recently had my dog put down that i grew up with. he was about 15(very very old for a dalmation.) i was not there when it was done. i was once told that being there with your dog, while he is being put to sleep is a very very rough thing to do, my folks couldnt do it, and i dont know if i could have, had i been there. they had a friend who volunteered to be with him for this. he was the best dog, his name was bilbo. i took the news pretty well, until i got a little note from my 10 year old neice offering me her condolences and how bilbo was going to be in heaven with my grandpa, man that tore me up bad. enjoy the rest of your time together!! Cliff
  15. i have never owned a bike, but i do have my license. if i was going to get one right now, i would get a buell. i like the XB9SX http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/street/XB9SX/colors.asp#
  16. i think i had steps forward and back this year. i think i improved my jig fishing ALOT. but i am slacking with t-rigs compared to last year. also i improved with spinnerbaits, but havent caught a single fish on a crank. i have caught far fewer fish but the ones i have caught were bigger. this is due to alot of reading here on BR and putting what i read to use on the water. mainly going SLOW!! i am looking forward to the wall and winter months, as they were my best months last year. my goal over the next we months is to catch better fish(3lbs plus), more often, and to break the 5lb barrier. additionally i learned this year how to build my own rod, tear down and put back together my own reel, and i have learned that quality is much more important than quantity when it comes to my gear. Cliff
  17. yeah i will keep that in mind, i just hope that nothing was damaged and it works. if not i saw the worm gear and pawl on ebay. thanks again Cliff
  18. lol...yeah i didnt know anything about it, he does all his reels with it, and he services reels for a local tackle shop as well. i know that it will never again be in my reels, thats for sure. thanks again to reelmech! Cliff
  19. well i have to say this was my first time taking apart a reel with the intent to put it back together and still work. i learned a few things tonight. first of all, the phrase "righty tighty lefty loosey" DOES NOT APPLY!! i learned how the inner reel looks and is put together and stuff. anyway i cleaned the worm gear and all that free of the red hot sauce and put it back together and ....IT WORKS!!! weather or not i fixed the problem i wont know untill my next outing, this coming weekend. in the mean time i will purchase some reel oil(cant find my abu stuff) and i will oil the places reelmech told me to. if anything i feel i could take the reel apart anytime now to fix or just clean and lube, so thats a plus. i will keep you poasted on weather or not the problem is fixed. also, the worm gear and pawl looked fine, to me, an untrained eye. thanks for the help reelmech, it is much appreciated!! Cliff
  20. thanks for the info RM!!! i will see what i can do and keep you updated! Cliff
  21. was playing around with this reel tonight. when there is nothing on the line and i crank it, it is perfectly fine. so that tells me that it is only "catching" when there is even a sleight load on it. can this thing be salvaged? if i was to remove the gear and clean off the hot sauce and re-lube with another oil, could it be ok? i dont see exposed brass color on the gear yet like i did on it that last time, you could see right where it was worn down. or maybe it is only the pawl that is damaged right now? thoughts? thanks Cliff
  22. i dont mean i throw the thing down at the ground as hard as i can then stomp on it. what i mean is that i am not concerned if it gets scratched up or anything, my reels, over time, get a good bunch of "bank rash" i take care of them enough to keep them working, but in this one case i am having problems. i am going to send it to reelmech and have it fixed right, and i will not be returning to my previous reel guy anymore. after thinking about it some today, this all started when i took the reel to him for just a clean and lube. thats what he did, and thats when i first started having problems. so i have to agree with others that the hot sauce is what is causing the problem. the current worm gear is less than a 2 months old, and i had to wait 5 weeks for the part to arrive.
  23. thanks, maybe i will send it to you and just have it done right. now i just need to find a way to print your form!! thanks Cliff
