If you see a private lake....
i went onto a private pond once in highschool, i didnt know at the time it was private, my buddy told me it was "ok" to fish there...we cought a ton of huge rainbow trout....it was awesome...my buddy cought a really big one and decided to keep it for a mount....well the texidermist discovered that it was pellet fed and pretty much knew it came from a private pond and refused to mount the fish....i felt really bad after i found out the pond was private....i never went back to that pond...or fished much with that "buddy" anymore..the only places he wanted to fish were private places.....so he either ended up not fishing much or fishing by himself alot.. just find the owner and ask permission..thats pretty simple think Cliff

White Bass

Texas Rig Question
i push mine all the way through....then the straight part on the end of a EWG gammy hook sits nicely against the plastic...and still remains weedless Cliff

New to Bassin
i have been using the t-rig almsot exclusively for a week or two now and am having the same problem....lots of bites but i cant get a hook set....here is the advice i was given by avid..he challenged me to catch a bass on a t-rig for the members challenge deal "Remember - don't get into a feeling game with the bass. You will lose everytime. Be a line watcher. After the worm hits the water strip out several feet of line and watch the line. when it twithces - then that's your hit. let the bass straighten out the line. When 99% of the slack is out use a quick, sharp straight hook set from 9 o'clock straight up to 12. " i will keep at it....i gotta get a 2 lber for the challenge! Cliff

my 4 year old nephew chose well!!
so me, my nephew and the monkey went to wally world tonight...i wanted to get some more plastics to widen my color choices...i thought it would be fun to let him choose them just to see what he would pick...i told him to choose four packs of worms from the Zoom bags...he pretty much picked exactly what i had in mind before i left the house!! he got me two bags of trick worms....watermelon seed and bruised bananna(that one is kinda crazy lookin) and two packs of u-tails...motoroil w/chart tail and red shad....so i just stuck with what he picked...it was kinda fun....hopefully gonna get out tomorrow and try em out...the lake is really high right now but i will give it a shot! anyone ever had any luck on that bruised bananna color worm? POLARIZED SUNGLASSES
i have the renegade ones from walmart too...20 bucks and they are great...and if they blow off my head while tilting back to sip some coffee on the boat ride...again...big deal...but i would be a tad upset if that happened to a pair that cost 200 bucks! Cliff

water level...
how does rising water effect the bass? the local lake here has come up like 3-5 feet in the last 2 days due to tons of rain...i am a bank fisherman and now i cant even access the docks and other spots i normally fish....will the fish move into the newly flodded grass and other cover? or will they still be out in the deeper water like nothing happened? any advice is appreciated Thanks Cliff

Good yet cheap rod/reel combo...
i have been using one of those pinnacle reels you mentioned from walmart for over a month now....i use it everyday and it works great....no problems at all...nice and smooth....fits nicely in my hand too...i have the solene and i ordered it online cuz i wanted left hand retrieve, but i think walmart carries this model and the next step up..with 9 bearings i think...they are 50-60 bucks, i plan to buy another one soon Cliff

question is to go college or not go.
this is very true...my wife did not go to college...she worked at a rental car agency for 5 years...we then moved to texas....she got another job for another rental car agency....it was easy to get, she had 5 years experience in the field....after about 2 months....they hired some dude with NO rental car ageny or customer service experience...paid him more to start and now he is in training to be the manager...he has a 4 year degree in criminology...nothing to do with the rental car business at all...but the fact that he went to college for 4 years got him a higher starting pay...even now my wife still does higher sales than he does....i say go take some general courses...maybe by then you will have changed your mind about what you want to do, and can then focus the rest of your schooling on that....trust me, you will change your mind Cliff

baightcasting reell ?
i hate that too..both my baitcasters are left hand retrieve...search around and you can find them...i know abu garcia makes left hand models as well as pinnacle....and i am sure there are other, but these are the ones i have

casting a baitcasting reel...
if your having backlash problems, like i was with my baitcasters....maybe try braided line...Redlinerobert recommended this to me...he said to try 30lb suffix....i couldnt find it, so i went with 30lb power pro...what a difference...i rarely get any backlash now Cliff
