Does tying direct to the bait really hurt the action of the bait? Super spooks do not come with split rings on them

Do you guys direct tie or use a clip of some sort when using spooks, specifically super spook and super spook jr?

Hey guys I’m mainly a saltwater guy but recently got into freshwater fishing mainly at our vacation home in PA. I’m looking for a general purpose spinning rod to walk the bank and wade shorelines with (not big on casting rods) and have narrowed it down to a Dobyns fury 702 and 703. I’m undecided on which one to get. Right now I mainly fish senkos, 1/8oz Texas rigs, super spook jr, rebel pop-r, strike king 1/8oz mini king spinnerbaits and ned rigs. In the spring I also throw jerkbaits like the rapala shadow rap Shad and x rap. Which rod should I go for, the 703 or 702.

Do you guys fish a tighter drag on spinning reels when fishing around grass vs when not fishing around grass?

Well about 3 hours later they’re still wandering around that area.

I found a bunch of wasps coming in and out of a mole hole so I sprayed inside the hole then dug around and found the nest and removed or atleast I think I removed most of it. A couple hours later there’s still wasps hovering around that area? Is this normal and they’re just looking to go where they once were or is part of the nest still in there?

When fishing a super spook and super spook Junior, sometimes during the retrieve, the lure will dive under the surface and is hard to get it to come back up. What’s the problem here? I use the super spook Junior, on a spinning rod with braid to leader

I am new to bass fishing. Was a salt water guy, my whole life up until the last two years. I’ve always used yum dingers but recently decided to try Gary Yamamoto senkos, as I’ve heard, they are the goat of stick baits. Well, after fishing with them for the past week, I can say I find them no better than Yum dingers. They get torn up easily just from casting and retrieving around grass without even catching a fish. I’ll stick to Yum dingers for a third of the price.

Does anyone use the reaction innovations sweet beaver as a chatterbait trailer? I have tons of em I don’t use and wanted to give it a go. Do you guys rig it horizontally or vertically (on its side)?

Just a thing I’ve always hooked through the bait don’t like trying new things I guess. I buy 100 packs of dingers for $25

When Texas rigging does the hook have to lay in the “hook slot”? After I catch a fish and the bait gets turn up I wanna flip flop the hook to the other side. Does it have a negative impact?

How important is it to hook the bait exactly in the middle? After I catch a fish or two my bait gets a little torn and I wanna reposition my hook but it’s not exactly In the middle. I don’t like using rings either I prefer hooking directly into the bait

When you guys peg your weight do you leave a little bit room between the bobber stop and weight or you push the bobber stop right up against the weight so it cannot move at all?

When rigging do you rig the tail up or down?

I fish mainly shallow very weedy ponds less than 6’ deep. Is it wise to just fish straight braid Vs mono or fluoro? I lost a good fish the other day due to leader failure when the fish buried me in grass

Just stared using snaps/clips with crank baits. Do you guys remove the split ring on the crankbait when adding a snap/clip or do you just attach it to the split ring?

Which rods do you guys use for F11 and F13 floating rapalas? I’m guessing my fury 702 would do the job as it has a soft enough tip to throw these baits

When I was younger used to fish before and after work now that I’m older, married, house kids I try to go 1-2x a week when I’m off. Miss those younger days. How often do you guys get out?

Does anyone use these? I use the 75lb ones in saltwater but looking to grab some minis for bass fishing. What size do you guys use? Mainly going to be used on jerkbaits, and topwater like 110 plopper, super spook and poppers
