  2. Dobyns 703 is the perfect rod for flukes. You gotta see how the fish behave. Like the previous poster said sometimes they smash it sometimes you don’t even know they’re on it
  3. Anywhere from 5-45 minutes depending where I go. Most of my fishing is done 15-30 mins away
  4. Rarely use em but when I do it’s zoom
  5. Both baitcasting and spinning are both just tools in my arsenal. Use what works for you. You can do a lot with a medium powered spinning rod
  6. I would use 10-15lb power pro (color doesn’t matter) with a mono leader anywhere from 8-15lb depending on the cover. I like berkley big game as a leader. Or you could keep it simple and ditch the leader all together
  7. Original power pro! Been using it for years no reason to change.
  8. That’s my reason for going to orings I was sick and tired of going through baits
  9. Reason for not using rings?
  10. Same here. the few times I’ve thrown the mag draft I used my frog rod which is the Dobyns 735
  11. Years ago had a $29 quest spinning rod made by dicks sporting goods. It had all Fuji components. Loved that rod
  12. Just started using these this season. I missed quite a few fish with these hooks. Never had an issue with the regular finesse wide gap hooks but I’m wondering if the weed guard has something to do with it.
  13. Never used a trailer hook in my 30 year of fishing
  14. I stopped by a dicks sporting goods store and they had a bunch of mojo bass rods. I haven’t held any of these rods since the previous gen and am looking to upgrade for next season. I was unpleasantly surprised to see they stopped using Fuji reel seats. they put some cheap sea guide reel seat on. Even though the mojo are lighter than the fury’s and I’m not the biggest fan or the no foregrip on the fury I’ll stick with the fury. The rod overall felt “cheaper” to me
  15. The believe it’s the first Shimano reel under 8oz for less than $200. Out of funds for new gear until next season.
  16. How do you like the Miravel?
  17. I’ve had line lay issues with pflueger spinning reels
  18. Don’t underestimate topwater in cold water. I’ve caught fish in 45 degree water on spooks worked painfully slow
  19. Misread the post and saw there’s a gap at the top and bottom, thought you said just the bottom. You can try adding or removing a washer and see if that helps. If not just deal with it and don’t over spool the reel
  20. Try adding a thin washer that was provided in the reel box. If it continues to happen add another one. My Shimano nasci does the same thing even after adding washers. I just deal with it
  21. Which retailer is selling 50 packs for $34.99?
