  1. Very very interesting, Gotta love bass behavior. Largies around me stay plum away from anything that gives off an inclination its a lure. rattles/bright colors are out, even experimented with changing the split rings on my hard baits with braided loops so it doesnt clack as much. overall its a flippin/pitchin county BEAUTIFULLY SAID. cant catch a fish that isnt there

  3. no most definitely not. Most defintely enough to be seared in his knoggin forever ?
  4. Daiwa rods have nutty soft tips, use their Mhs for cranking around cover.
  5. one could argue that if you arent mimicking natural forage you wont catch a bass. one could also argue that if you arent mimicking forage color you wont catch a bass. gimmie your thoughts
  6. Interesting take. I respect open discourse more than anything but I disagree wholeheartedly, fishing videos can put you in the right direction but bass are gonna behave differently body of water to body of water. they conform to their habitat and because forage and the habitat itself are diffrent (also depends on fishing pressure) only way to know what baits their eating/ what mood their in is to be on water. Scratching my brain as to what could be more important or if you're jus playing devils advocate.
  7. little about myself. Im extremely goofy, over analytical, and kinda quiet at times. Its not that Im not jiving with you just at times I dont even enjoy hearing myself in my head so I stick to speaking when its needed. I love fishing and will be pursuing tournaments (most likley end october) Love it so much so im in a constant battle between going out and wetting a line and and reopening the cracks on my reel hand from fishing in the first place. like majority of people I didnt grow up with a boat and I already know you understand how pressured Ky waters are but I was so gripped by bass behavior compared to pan fish every second I wasnt on the bank somewhere I spent absorbing knowledge around fishing. I grew up under poor circumstances and paired with the way the worlds going I WILL NOT subscribe to a life I dont enjoy. Ik realistically I got a ways to go but I am gonna fish tournaments for a living or Im gonna fish tournaments broke. I eat sleep and breathe fishing, if were even somewhat like minding in that respect IK we'll get along.
  8. Right on brother! I appreciate you leaving a post for me, Id give you my phone number but I sold it so I could step back and jus live life. Ill look more into if bass resource has a personal messaging sorta deal if not I check my gmail frequently on my familys computer throughout the day. Ik its a little more extra compared to the simplicity of sending a normal message but Ill still look forward to hearing from you. 1024cwalker@gmail.com
  9. Above average brain just need to apply it.
  10. Yes and no. bass are obviously fickle at times but at the end of the day if you understand how the forage fish behaves bass are bass, time on the water just lets you tweak your presentation to match their mood. still about getting on the water so ya know when to do what without second guessing it.
  11. Not so much saying dont absorb information but when people do it at such a capacity that their getting overwelmed Itll always be a better option to just get on the water. Fishing is alot more than just catching feesh completelyyyy understand what youre saying. Tbh I have to tell myself "cant catch whats not there" cause when I say "They arent biting" I make it personal and wanna "make em bite". nastyyy rabbit hole. And more than ever were dealing with overly pressured water, mix that with the sun boiling the water. yikes. Beautiful.
  12. If a boat sinks almost instantly the life in the water adapts to it, nothing we as people is gonna actually help. Our waterways would be fine without us. We might make changes to amend problems we made ourselves but Unfortunately I feel like alot of the brain storming we do is just trying to rational why fishing isnt the same. Bass will only make the same mistakes a few times in their lives so unless ky starts focusing on fishing to match the influx of people interested in fishing Texas with their sharelunker program will run the states fishing scene.
  13. Acquiring Knowledge surrounding fishing is a beautiful thing but fishing videos dont let you implement that knowledge. Get on the water, you'll start noticing a confidence change and making choices wont be as difficult. People talk about getting overwhelmed and I think it can be attributed to listening to 5 different peoples take on a given topic, formulate your own thinking/patterns and it'll feel right.
  14. thats such a good idea. definitely a game changer for me, appreciate you brotherr
  15. Ventilated Bucket hat my brotha, seems silly but the same way alot of our heat escapes through the top of our heads in the winter so we wear toboggans, heat needs to be able to escape in the heat.
  16. chill and let them get in on the action. Unless you're in a tournament and have a possibility of losing that money fish whats the point of being hateful (even if its subliminal) when we all should jus be spreading the love. Now if they are sending bad vibes dont Impeach on your own mental well being, sometimes being petty is good for the soul. I like to play defense with my boat, plot out where I think they are heading, and set my troller to Mach Jesus so I can get there first.
  17. No doubt, thats where trusting the squishy thing between your ears comes into play. yes there are factors that change body of water to body of water but bass are bass. Every forage fish behaves a different way body of water to body of water but if you can observe it in person or do research on it changing your retrieve to match isnt difficult either. as I said, simple. People over complicate it or claim "they aint bitin" but 9/10 you arent even in the right location.
  18. Well seriously. Hats off to you brother, ya shouldnt stop learning till your dead. I too wanna be a student of bass fishing firstly, one of my favorite examples is the females in my pond started spawning for a second time this year. Typically uncommon but I have a theory because the water temp fluctuates faster in ponds after a few heavy storms in KY that quick change got females rockin bloody tails again
  19. I think thats a beautiful point you're bringing up, Truly believe its important to find the middle ground between having confidence in your retrieve and realizing they arent eating on it. put it away too early and might misss that bite but dont change up might miss a window catching them on something else. End of the day I compare bass to women, the day you think you finally got females fully figured out, buy a lottery ticket.
  20. Everyone should take every piece of information with a grain of salt, im not the exception but I pretty much said dont be lazy and do your own thinking. Think you can apply that to every facet of life
  21. End of the day brother cant control the things we cant control, feel like alot of the time were just dealing overly pressured water.
  22. If I had to count the amount of times Ive seen someone attribute a catch to something completely random id have to pass up 10 an kick my boots off to start tallying toes. First off people are far too eager to get a easy answer off google instead of just learning their body of water, in a community where word of mouth spreads like wildfire this is only detrimental. All you need to know is A} No one bass will behave the same B} A bass will only make the same mistake a few times in their life. AND C {most important for me} Cant catch a fish that isnt there. MORAL OF THE STORY: keep it simple, fish hard and attentively, and if the stars align {conditions are close enough to right/you arent on overly pressured water) you wont even have to work for the bites. Doing the extra stuff makes it more interesting for us but extra stuff doesn't catch bass. of course there are gems of information out there but gotta take everything with a grain of salt cause anyyyyyone can post their silly ideas online. Just trust the squishy thing between your ears and as you catch fish start piecing together the pattern their trying to reveal to you.
