  1. It is the reel that made the SLX and the Curado completely irrelevant. And one of its strongest pros it has is how long lasting the smoothness/silence is.
  2. Well of course. If you use a spool, or a spinner, you will get some twisting. That's done with the lure, not the reel. Simply use a ball bearing, and you won't get any twisting while using a spoon.
  3. Replace your spinning gear with baitcasters made for casting light lures, and forget line twisting and wind knots. Did it over a decade ago, and forgot what's even line twisting😊
  4. The YGK Upgrade i bought late summer last year is finished by May this year. Started out great, but barely lasted any time that i am used to. The other braid like i got from YGK/Xbraid (don't remember the exact series) has been great so far, and have had no issues yet.
  5. Getting a backlash once in a while is not important, and i usually don't even pay attention to that, unless it's so bad that you need to cut your line, which hasn't happened to me in over 5 years. The issue is getting constant backlashes, and that's never the case. I mostly fish from the bank, so no trolling motor to step on lol. So yea, casting distance is extremely important, and one of the reason i don't even use SV spools.
  6. Some of you still have to see the lure to brake the spool with your thumb? Don't you feel the spool decelerating before hitting the water? I don't know if its just experience or what, but half the time i don't even pay attention to the lure hitting (unless casting around structure of course) the water, you can feel when its time to stop the spool with your thumb.
  7. I was gonna quote you asking you how the hell can you guarantee it casting further than everything else (have heard this exact sentence in the youtube comments glazing the new Abu DC's), and then i understood the situation😊
  8. I am such a non believer of technologies that rely on selling you the "thumb free casting" crap. It's also too bad that tackle advisors isn't posting new vids, he'd be the one to do a proper analysis of this reel.
  9. I believe you, and would have already tried it, but its too d**n expensive. Bought 2 different lines from Duel a couple of days ago, hoping they perform well.
  10. Only tried the standard j-braid in 8, 10 and 20#. Garbage. Extreme digging. Frays on random locations (especially on the 8 and 10lb), and you better cut the line, or that frayed portion will make you lose a lot of fish and lures. To me, the 832 is the gold standard for well over a decade. Desperate to find a braid that is thinner, slicker, doesn't fray easily, and lasts at least as long as the 832.
  11. Hmm, mine is the Japanese version as well, and i use a 1.3m fluoro leader, so i really don't know how the line frayed, but it was very annoyed losing 5 fish on a hookset. And i know that it's not related to my knot because some of the lures i lost on a hookset i later cought drifting, and the breakage was far from any knots. Disappointed because otherwise this braid was excellent.
  12. Looking to grab a few spools of the Duel Hardcore Super X8. Anyone used them?
  13. How long has the UPGRADE X8 lasted for you? From mid last season to early this year, this braid was perfectly for me, then, around mid May, in a single day, i've had FIVE line breaks on a hookset in a single day. Lost tons of line and lures with it. It was so weird that i thought something was wrong with my guide inserts, but nope, the rod was perfect. Ever since this happened, i just don't use it anymore. Such a good caster, but super disappointed of the line snapping like that (it was a 25lb test one).
  14. I keep coming back to 832. After testing a couple of braided lines from YGK since summer last year, they simply do not last the same way 832 does. Right now i wanna try a few braids from Hardcore, will see how they last.
  15. It's the all around range, so it can handle everything outside of fishing in heavy veggies, chunking heavy glidebaits and BFS'ing. I personally stick to 20# because it's enough.
  16. Really want to get the Studio Composite TRANSWORLD 7109-5 to pair with the Z2020 and soon the IMZ. But expeeeeeensive.
  17. The Zillion HD is better than the Steez A and the Steez A II, and look how much cheaper that reel is. Bet you both Steez A sales nose dived so hard since the introduction of the HD.
  18. I don't get the point of ever replacing them, they don't break. Have had them on the first gen ryoga and the z2020 which i use for musky, and never has it cracked or anything.
  19. Which is so sad. Crazy frames for Megabass to modify these days, and they ignore them all. But as i expected, when the company becomes very successful in NA and EU, they simply do not need to bother getting daiwa frames to sell under their name, it's much better to build your own rods and have a 100% profit going to them. Wish they began making their own reels from the ground up, but it's not happening.
  20. Curious on how many of you have a setup to chunk large swimbaits and glidebaits. If you do, what do you use?
  21. The Zillion HD is still sub $250 on amazon jp. This can't be beat for what you're getting. As for the cheaper ones, the 24 Tat 100 is sub $120 from the same place, and there's no way this can be beat by any brand. Both can be found for even noticeably cheaper on auctions, but that's not for everyone.
