at the healthy price of $450. Love mine. Glad I paid much less years ago for it. I've noticed a couple other reels selling for more than the original MSRP.

I'm seeing this as well.

Bought a rod last year that I've really grew fond of only to find out it's 30% higher now 😳

Any Megabass reel is bringing big coin atm. People are realizing they aren't going to release any more.

3 posts on eye-candy thread, and nary a photo - for shame.

What? What do you mean exactly. ? The company is stopping sales here?

I'm just referring to their modified Daiwa reels. It's been 8 or 9 years since they have released one, and most think they are done with them.

It's always some of the newbies that just find out about these older limited and Megabass reels that are willing to drop big bucks to " collect" and after the cool facts wear off, they turn around to pass the torch (flip them) to next newbies in line. This is just some phase that come and go and been going around for some time now. Megahype was pretty crazy in 2020 when everyone was getting covid checks though 😂

I understand the personal value of ownership of the old tackles but funny i remember when some of these reels (zillion 50, type R) were out and available at the time, all i could read were people whining about how they weren't worth the money and not better than the regular zillion. Cabelas zillion was the laughing stock, everyone trashed it for its ugly green paint. Funny how the perceptions change over the years

Which is so sad. Crazy frames for Megabass to modify these days, and they ignore them all. But as i expected, when the company becomes very successful in NA and EU, they simply do not need to bother getting daiwa frames to sell under their name, it's much better to build your own rods and have a 100% profit going to them.

Wish they began making their own reels from the ground up, but it's not happening.

I have the 50th, a 100SHLA, and PE 100H. I like the 50th the best and the PE the least of the three.
