  1. I don't know how it is for everyone else, but to me is many things. First, the looks. For once, actual colors on a fishing reel that isn't anodized red or anodized gold. Love the look of the frame, it palms well, and a very light reel. I also like the capacity on these, it's the perfect capacity as a spinning reel replacement. Big fan of the PX68 Finnesse Special spool these have, it's the longest casting spool i've ever tried to cast compact aero dynamic lures. If you ugrade the reel to make it more modern, i don't feel like you're missing out on anything currently produced reels have. In fact, considering how easy it is to service, and how solidly built they are, they have an advantage over current productions. Of every reel that i currently have, the Pixy would be the very last i'd sell. How would you run the CT spools in the Pixy? 1mm gap isn't enough for the fishing line to get stuck in there? I never even thought of trying a CT spool on my Pixy. Also, which spacers are you referring to?
  2. Always thought the TDZ's were bleh to palm. Same with the OG Zillions.
  3. Of course. Bunch of people on here bought it from amazon before the tariffs.
  4. They're like $205 on amazon jp https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/Daiwa-Zillion-1000HL-Handle-Model/dp/B08NP21Q2D/ref=sr_1_1?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.aSyX-OrnxvbZPmQ7mxdiDzumW4aHpg3bWlqVwKY03BoU11BNWwQ2zLn3XjS9zA0cPGS7nGzXdKTPUAekL2fnQtfKTS6Pf3no2JJtvFz9LmF5371pUfOmoiZROuhK7jQj0O5SRwwUUrA4-rGlJJCW2P4yslyCrYwkpmKfIpD08AyGKpWSO1jOS_8NH3NhC8yqKtIICXF-M2KGAXyAkFteWC3Ehxs1X9_6rWDCSPIYPqOGwvhuPHsfz-8ZPBE7KDW0SyEHFBLZ1wHUMn0gqe1-aJPKvqQSQoLi6SAelOYvfq0.MwxDElTZfe6vOxVP8m3sXQvUGUN-74kZKZtYos3HQL8&dib_tag=se&keywords=%E3%82%B8%E3%83%AA%E3%82%AA%E3%83%B3svtw&qid=1775047075&sr=8-1&th=1
  5. I personally don't like how these frames feels like. To me, its the new 2024 Tat frame or nothing.
  6. Possibly, but are we discrediting them snapping their rod on a cast, or the first hookset? Their rods are known to explode, you can read a ton of reviews on reddit, TW, youtube, etc. If the googan dudes didn't edited it out from their vids, be certain there would be an exploded rod every 3 videos lol.
  7. Have a hard time believing that. For fun, i've spent a few minutes reading comments on the googan's youtube channel, and you have people on there raging at their rods.
  8. I've heard the same defense for Googan rods.
  9. Hello THEREELTEST. Why did you shadow ban me on your channel?🙂 But seriously, i'd like to get one for free, and use it for 1 full season. Its guaranteed to not hold up well to S and D. And i do agree about KK's repution. I, and everyone i know, associates this company with Temu tier trash. Like the worst of the worst around. When you release pure garbage for as long as you have, and now, possibly, trying to make something decent, you will be seen in bad light for a very long time before anyone gives it a chance. If i were them, i'd rebrand. KastKing is in the same category as Favorite or Googan's shovelware, so they'll never be taken seriously.
  10. I knew people that flipped with it using 50-65lb braid, and there was no issues with it whatsoever. You obviously had to replace its drag stack, and 7.2 ratio did a better job, but this is a mini tank just like the OG alphas, they last forever. I use mine on multiple rods, going from UL bfs to Medium power, and like it for everything.
  11. Why would he spool himself with 1/2oz? I used mine from 1/16oz to 3/4oz lures with the custom PX68 Finesse Special spool, which has the same capacity than the original. You never spool it, it has a perfect capacity for a spinning reel replacement. Now, if you load it with 20lb fluoro, of course you will spool it, but this is not what you'd use a spinning reel either. I use mine with 8-15lb braid, and its flawless.
  12. Daiwa Pixy. I use mine for walleye for the longest time. It's perfect as a spinning reel replacement.
  13. This og frame was kinda high on the reel seat compared to newer releases.
  14. Didn't see their "With our reels, you stop thinking about distance — when the lure flies and the spool settles at splashdown without you stepping in, you’re already thinking about where the next cast should land". As i expected, a backlashless reel is incapable of casting far, so if you're sacrificing distance for control, something that is there for your thumb, that's the kind of design that i could ONLY see working for people that are getting into baitcasters, or your gf/wife.
  15. As the title says. For me, it's undeniably the Steez CT frame. The new steez 2024 is extremely close, but still not CT level. How about you all?
  16. 1. Why would anyone who knows how to use baitcasters care about a so called backlashless reel when you know how to use a normal baitcaster? 2. No reel will be able to cast at max distances if it cannot backlash. It's simply not a thing that can be achieved. 3. Just listen to this reel while he is casting in the youtube video. It sounds like a Temu $30 noname reel. This is a technology, if sold to Daiwa or Shimano, i see them refining it, and come out with something that could possible, MAYBE be worth it. When installed on a Temu reel... no thanks.
  17. I don't believe your average joe buying a Tat cares about it being a workhorse, having a twing or the mag brakes. Everything is in the price, and how popular the reel is across the socials.
  18. Its a couch fisherman. There's a reason why he is insanely excited to catch even a crappie during his tests. He doesn't service his reels, and they're always perfectly clean. I take care of my gear much more than the average person would, so my reels are also "scratchless", but with all the gunk you'll catch over a season, they simply cannot be clean, and his are factory clean. If i had to guess, and i'd put money on it, he is on the water, for the sole purpose of fishing, about 15 times a year, for no more than 4h at a time. As i said, a couch fisherman.
  19. People watch his videos because he covers new releases. He trolls Daiwa or not, those who care what's coming out will watch his stuff. Too bad Tackle Advisors isn't posting, he actually is on the water more than 5 times a year.
  20. Btw OP you can fix all of this by buying the 24 Met DC😊
  21. He bashes them constantly. Uses Temu brands, and tries to make his viewers believe that it's smoother than a zillion, or a steez tw is as goofy as it gets. He is incapable of making a single video without mentioning Daiwa in bad light. That doesn't bother me, though, it makes me giggle instead because i know that the extreme popularity of the Zillion and the Tat made his Curado/SLX and the Metanium significantly less relevant than what they were prior to 2021, and that bothers him greatly.
  22. Well i imagine its because the Tats are extremely popular, especially the current 2024 model that even i am glazing (before the current model i was never suggesting anybody to get a tatula, and that since they launched in 2013).
