  1. Thanks, I've been lurking for quite awhile Swamp Girl. I'll be heading up your way May 22 to fish and hopefully golf that weekend, then again in July/Early August. Appreciate anything you can help me with. Gary
  2. I take a canoe with my BIL, I like to fish for 4-6 hrs, but as I'm 60 now, My butt hurts(not webbing, hard plastic seats) and would prefer more comfort. I've read reviews of everything pretty much, but straps will probably be restrictive. Anyone have proven comfort WITHOUT restrictions? Thanks
  3. Hello all, Ma. Guy here. I used to be fanatical about fishing, as a kid I took the bus from Porter Sq. In Somerville with my friends to Spy Pond in Arlington as often as possible, some good fish in there..."hint- bass like worms here, tons of small eels used to be in there...they were around me when I took a dip behind the Boys/Girls club end docks). Then I went through a period where I went to a friend's house after work on Friday, we'd fish DE at night, come home and grab a couple, take the canoe all day in different ponds/lakes, then Rinse and Repeat at LEAST through Sunday night. Biggest fish is somewhere between 7-8 no scale, many 5s and a few 6s before that, and she was way bigger than them. I'm a worm guy, caught her on about a 4"(if that) Rapala. Snapped off numerous big bass on brand new Ande 10lb test back then (so happy for Braid now) in Edaville Reservoir in Carver Ma....been told that is where the State Record REALLY came from (Not Sampson), whether true or not I will never know. Finally coming back to fish, new gear, no canoe, unless I go with my BIL, who lives in Norway Me. Glad to see everyone here. Thanks
  4. This is something I miss a lot, I fished FW at night many times a summer when I was younger, fishing mostly Hulas and Jitterbugs. Never even considered Worms/Jigs, I fished 9" Mann's jelly worms the most during the day(I still think as good as any) Was catching pretty decent fish using the aforementioned lures. Guess I was missing out not trying bottom. Thanks
  5. Fish more often, and catch more fish. Last 30yrs I've only been fishing a few times a year, which is FAR DIFFERENT than it used to be when fishing with my old buddy Rich 35-40yrs ago, fishing freshwater in canoe weekend days, and salt Walter from the bank weekend nights. This was every Friday night after work to Sunday Night... sometimes causing Monday day to be a fishing day instead of working! I want back in.
  6. Ice still a problem in MA. Maybe late March sometime...say March 21st.
