Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
Yes, is a compact frame version. By the way, in Arg market the prices are not reasonable. A daiwa tatula sv tv is no less than $350, and I can find one on ebay for $140 from japan.

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
For me, the reel for the dorado is Tatula Type HD. But with a Tatula CT 150 7.1 you will be fine, because is compact and easy palm, have enough drag y line capacity.

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
This chart is excellent, the problem is what the box say. I mean, a .235 line its not .235 in all his length. For example, a great line like the sufix 832, the 50 pound is claimed at .340, but is has an average .423 (you can check that on YT). So probably is less line on your spool, depending the brand

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
After reading all you said about, I want to add something: is possible to cover all que kind of fishing style with one reel? Yes. This reel will be enough? No. My recommendation is that for the type of fish and style of fishing (lines, lures, rods), the best you can do is to buy 2 reels. Why? Because when you are looking tarariras, you are gonna use rubber, tiny cranks, frogs, all light lures. To maximice your casting distance, the recomendation is no more than 30 pound braid, 20 is better but if you have bad luck (or good luck should I say) and a golden dorado catch your lure (because sometimes they share the same waters), is better to have 30 pound braid and not 20. For this kind of fish, a daiwa tatula 70 will be fine. Also, a slx mgl 70 would be perfect. Its to much to use, for example, a Tatula HD for that situation. Now, in open water, when your target is the golden dorado, the line recomendation is no less than 40 pound braid. Your gonna need al least a 150 size reel to load 100 meters, mostly because sometimes we launch lures to 40 meters You can manage a 20 pound dorado with a tatula 150 or a shimano slx xt, you no need a curado or a tatula 300 for that, its all about experience, and using your drag and rod properly. For me, if I have to buy only one reel, it will be a Tatula CT 150 or the Tranx 200. The SLX XT 150 its not a bad choice either way.

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
If the price is the same, i would go for the Salamandura (other option to think: tatula ct).

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
Yes, the issue with the micromodule is that with regular use (like 1 trip per month) a cleaning and maintenance at the end of the season its ok. Now, if you fish more time, and catch too many bigger fish, i would recommend a service every 6 monts. The micromodule loses the grease to fast. In brazil, i know they burn the micromodule. So yes, thinking in our fishes, for me the salamandura is the best option against the curado M

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
Yes the Tranx 201 is a good option, its a has the regular gear -not micromodule- a really workhorse reel.

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
Well, the first question is what's your budget? Now, the Curado M has mgl III spool. I would say its an advantage to throw light weights (rubbers, frogs). The cons, in my humble opinion, is the micromodule. I dont trust in those gears for bigger dorados. In the other hand, I dont know the salamandura, but for their specs, it seem a well all around reel for any kind of fishing here in argentina

Daiwa Salamandura SV TW 150 (2024/25) VS Shimano Curado 150 M (2025)
Hola Andrés, es bueno tener otro argentino por acá, ahora sigo en inglés: I have daiwa (old tatula and tatula ct) and couple shimano (bantam, metanium, scorpion, chronarch). Both are the best brands. Besides what you choose, keep in mind that shimano have official service in the country, and you can find replacement for any model, something that can not happen with Daiwa, at least for now.

What is Shimano's "Monster Drive"?
Nobody knows what MD really mean. Maybe a little bit of more drag pressure equal to call it monster drive? Here a guy from brazil made a comparison vs curado 201dc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRe7lEQ-Z6g&ab_channel=OutlanderPesca

Do You Retire Lures?
This season the dorados almost killed these lures. The only one who pass away is the rapala, they blow up the hook hanger

Depend where he fish, but in the amazon you can catch with lures: trairoes, cachorras, dourados. By the way, you saw the pink dolphin? what a privilege

Thoughts on the Abu Garcia Veritas Tournament Rod for Peacock Bass
Its depend the size of fish you are searching for. Big catfish (bagre gigante) or tiger shovelnose (surubí) stays on deeps waters, in that case you should use a 300 size reel with live bait. For lures, a 200 size its ok. With pacu (or tambaqui), I think with no more than 15 lbs of drag its ok. Normally you will use tinny lures, so too much drag will bend the treble hooks.

The Falcon are nice rods, like @little giant said the Peacock could be a great choice. Also if you can find a old St Croix Avid, 6´ MHF, thats a great rods for the money, great action and light weight. Other choice is to buy at the local shop when you arrive. There are good options from local brands (eg., Marine - Venator rod). Even Shimano released a specific curado rod called "serie Brasil", with different model for casting and spinning.

A tranx 400 only if you goal its to fish the famous arapaima 300 for live bait 200 is ok for baitcast. With 15 lbs drag and 40 lbs of multi 4x gonna be fine. There is branches and part of trees under water, with fluoro you dont have to worried about that.
