The Falcon rods thread
Im a St Croix user but the Falcon rods arrived last years to argentina. So Im curious about 2 models of Lowrider series. The thing is I broke a Legend Tournament LBTC68MXF (8-20 line) but for me this not a medium power, I would say is even a lightish medium. I have the LBTC71MHF, a true medium heavy. So was thinking to change the broke rod for other model, the equal medium heavy in the Avid or Victory series, or sell the replacement and buy a Lowrider. Im looking for something extra fast to fast and medium heavy power, similar to the LBTC71MHF. The main use is for throwing lures of 1oz with single hooks. Any thoughts about the "All´round Fast" and the "Swim Jig"? I read that the Swim Jig it is a true fast, but maybe not a medium heavy.

803 JWR is perfect, well balanced and good power for what I need. Liked so much that I bought the 804 for more power.

Latest,Rods & Reels Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
In past march I found a st croix rage 7´1 MHXF. Really love this rod. Couple weeks ago I decide to buy mi first G.Loomis, the 803c JWR. Like it so this week arrived the 804c JWR. Plus some guy offer a Curado 201E7 in mint condition at a price I cant refuse.

IMX PRO 803C JWR
Im clicking the button right now Stiff and too fast its what I need to hear. Its difficult to penetrate a single/treble hook into the tought mouth of these fishes. In my experience the chance to land a golden dorado into the boat decreases with a moderate action.

IMX PRO 803C JWR
No, the old model.

IMX PRO 803C JWR
Hi. Past week I broke a St Croix Legend Tournament LBTC68MXF. Something weird about this model is that it doesnt feel overpowered like most St Croix rods. In fact I think it is not a true Medium power rod. Im processing the warranty claim through the official representative, so that will take some time. In the meantime, Im looking for something similar, 6'8 medium to medium heavy power and I need an extra fast action to hookset the strong mouth bones of the Golden Dorados. Throwing jerkbaits no more that 20grms I saw the IMX Pro 803C JWR at 50% off. Any thoughts about this rod?

The only DC I am interested is the new incoming scorpion 200 DC MD.

St. Croix Rods breaking?
I dont understand how people brake rods. it never happened to me. I mean, my St Croix rods has travel a long way from the factory to reach at my hands. I put Mojo Bass, Avid X, Avid Pearl, LTB to really agressive fishing condition, using 50 pound braid, hooking 10 to 16 pound fishes, throwing lures beyond the recommended weight, full drag tight, and no one broke. Beside that, Im really carefully with my gear from home to the fish point and viceversa. Am I a lucky guy?

Moving Up in Rod Length
I wont change to other rod lenght if that work for me. So keep in mind what @casts_by_fly said Beside that, I have the Avid X 68MHF old LTB 68MHF and new LTB 71MHF for identical purpose. I like more the feel of the Avid X over both LBT. About the LBT, the upgrade dont fell like day and night. But the new is better balance (the older is tip heavy) and lightweight than previous model. Those 3' plus really gives you more casting distance. Also the LTB feel little bit stiffer on the butt that the Avid. Dont own a Victory but for what I saw in most reviews is a great rod for the price, very light, great balance.

jerkbait rods
I have that Mojo and its perfect for topwater and jerkbaits. Short handle, light weight. I recently bought the LTB Jerkbait rod, 6´8 MXF, also short handle, the butt is a little bit stiffer than the mojo, but for me its perfect for what I need.

Reels for Brazil
I do not recommend any shimano with micromodule for 5 day fishing at brazil. I love my bantam but I trust more in the slx xt than a bantam for that fishing.

Reels for Brazil
A 300 size is too much. The Tatula HD or Tranx 200 should be fine.

Shimano Chronarch 50E
That is. 2 pin on and forget. Smooth drag, good casting, and they last forever. Here in argentina, the 200E7 is THE REEL.
