Are you buying the new ABU DC Revo Voltiq reel?

Featured Replies

I predicted Daiwa to come out with a DC reel in 2026 now that the Shimano's patent on DC has expired, but it looks like Abu will release one first. Are you interested?

Currently I'm not particularly interested in anyone's DC reel. I just got a Revo STX, so it's not about liking or not liking ABU.

As I was typing my response, Phish's popped up (yay new forum software) with the exact same answer as me. I have no interest in a DC reel anyway. And I also just put fresh line on an STX.

Nope. I have Shimano DCs and don’t need more.

Not at all interested in any DC reel.

Not going to be a buyer because I already have the Shimano MetDC. I've had it for 5 years and like it very much, but that is as a stand alone reel - I'm not sure the DC capability actually proves it's worth. The edge case where it may be helping me more than I appreciate is casting jerkbaits into a strong head wind. Other than that, just dialing in the normal reels does gets it done - so I dont see any need/want for a second DC.

One day DC reels will outcast any experienced thumb, but until that day, I'll wait and see.

The only DC I am interested is the new incoming scorpion 200 DC MD.

As a die hard Abu guy I will purchase one whether I want to or not. 😂 I don't have a say in the matter!

Not planning on buying another DC reel from anyone. I have a JDM 23 SLX DC and its fun to hear the sound if I want to. Don't see that it casts any better or farther than a non DC reel. I do hope all these Shimano type DC reels coming out now will bring the price down. It's old technology and its not even superior.

My SLX DC has mostly just gathered dust since I picked up a JDM Zillion..
