Okuma Hakai - missing part
You are right. The collar/tube is a critical component. This must be made of metal or another hard material, not plastic, because this put pressure to the drive gear.

Okuma Hakai - missing part
Hello. This past summer I broke my Okuma Hakai (love this reel). I was fighting a golden dorado (8 pound more or less) and after hear a clik the handle just blocked (has to used my hands to aproach the fish by the way) When I opened the hakai, the roller clutch inner tube was broken. Next image is from a video It does not show in the schematic Could be it integrated in the roller bearing? I asked to the official okuma service from argentina but they never answered.

Thoughts on the Abu Garcia Veritas Tournament Rod for Peacock Bass
I never went to Amazon, but there is no more difference for what me use here in Argentina. I know what local fisherman use, so... Short rod, no more than 6´. Your are going to use top water lures (popper, prop) big jerbait and minnows. Long rod equal to more weight. More than 3-4 days of fishing and your wrist gonna be on fire. The brazilians tend to use 5,3, 5,6 or 6,0. And I agree to @Darth-Baiter , 65lbs power pro (50lbs its ok by the way) and Tranx 201 (but the revo its ok). If you go to a local store, buy some lures frome the brands like Marine Sport (inna 140, brava, raptor, ram popper, tnt, power minnow) borboleta (lola, jaraqui) they work very well.

Daiwa Tatula CT?
I have the same version. Nothing bad about this reel. Perform really well. I dont know if Daiwa changed too much the inside of the new model, but it will be almost the same. So, a great deal for that price

Curado MGL Gear Issues
I only trust the micromodule on the Bantam 18/A and Met B. Below those, I prefer a slx xt over a curado I dont know about the bfs but Im sure the slx line dont feature micromodule.

Curado MGL Gear Issues
The slx dont have micro module gears. For me, the standars gears are better. The MM is smoother but its not gonna last forever. I know a lot a fisherman who burned the MM, mostly those made from aluminium. I would call Shimano or buy a new gear set.

Buying a new reel for a Dobyns Fury 734C. DC or no DC
Yes, nowaday all shimano have polymer worm shaft, so you have to be carefoul to not work it dry. I know from somes guys that fish curado, slx, slx xt, etc., without grease it properly and literally burned the worm shaft, something that dont happen inmediatelly with the metal worm shaft. Just my two cents.

Buying a new reel for a Dobyns Fury 734C. DC or no DC
The only bad in the 2022 is that the worm shaft is now made of plastic instead of metal. The 22 has the silent tune feature, but they feel the same. I just notice the 22 cast better.

Buying a new reel for a Dobyns Fury 734C. DC or no DC
I had Curado DC 151 and 201, sold both. Goods reels, regular casting distance, great for windy conditions. Have both Bantam 18´ and 22´. Great casting (22´ better), super smooth. For me, the coresolid body make a difference, its really feel the power when retrieve.

St Croix LT Jerkbait
Used, but 22´ model or older? I wonder if the new model has the solid backbone like the previus models

St Croix LT Jerkbait
Hi people. Last december I bought the LBTC86MXF, the "jerkbait", rated as 8-20 lbs. Here in Argentina, the oldest models for this rod, rated as 10-17lbs, is the do-everthing-rod-all-purpose, as you can use it -almost- for every place. I have had the older one in my, it is light, very well balance and have plenty power to manage big fish (I have the 12-20 and I find it a little bit tip heavy) but is very hard to find even in used condition, local fisherman dont put on sale that rod. Finally I put my money on the new model. I dont what happen but the store sent to me other model, the LBTC71MHF, the "all in". Talking to owner, said to me that for any reason that was a mistake, but he recommended that rod like a all-purpose, and the new jerkbait do not share the same power as the last model and even lighter that the old "topwater" model (sound strange to me because the SC rod are stiffer than other brands). Finally said to me that try the "all in" and if I didnt like it, return the rod that he will be sending the jerkbait. Well, I kept the rod cause I really like it. Now, I want the jerkbait rod hehe. Anyone has/have the older Legend Tournament jerbait rod (10-17 lbs) and how does it compare to the new model (8-20 lbs)?

My 2024 bait of the year
My baits of the year by far was a Careaga. A brand from argentina who makes only two tipes of lure, the "timbocito" (small size) and "timbó" (normal size). It doesn't matter the size and color, any one works. Dorados has teeth, so they can destroy lures as you can see

How technique specific are your rods
The dorado: The tarucha/tararira is this one, similar to wolf fish or traira from brazil. I have an other picture Surubí (they can overpass 50lbs of weight). I wasn't lucky to catch a big one There are other species, but those three are the most popular.

How technique specific are your rods
Interested topic. Here in Argentina we usually use at least 3 different rods from cover most of the situation, because we fish with hard bait lures, when we want to find golden dorados or surubies, and only soft bait or frog when we want to fish taruchas (similar to the traira/trairaoes from brasil). Generally speaking: 1 rod ML or M, 5,6´ to 6´6 to tarucha 1 rod MH or H, to 6´ to 6´8 will be fine for golden dorados 1 rod H, 7´ for fishing big surubies. Like I said, with this gear you can cover most of the situation. Now what a I use is totally diferent, and depend of what the place demand, and the size of the local fish. When go out in kayak or try to fish taruchas: I use a Mojo Bass 6´8´´MXF. The lenght aloud me the cover more distance. Use jerkbait, minnow baits, topwater, frogs, no more than 7/8 oz. For golden dorados: For tinny fishes, I use the Mojo. If they are bigger (4 to 10 lbs), I have an Avid Pearl 6,6 MF. Use those rods for throwing Use jerkbait, minnow baits, all kind of hard bait, no more than 7/8 oz. Now, when a the area has trees or branches under water or the water run to fast, I have 2 rods: a Avid X and Legend Tournament, both 6´8´´MHF. One paired with a 6.3 reel (for deep crank baits), and the other with 7.2., for the rest of hard bait, in all cases no more than 1 1/4 oz. Finally, I have a new Legend Tournament 7´1 MHF (called "all in"), this particular is used to throwing lures against the wind or distance is needed in special cases. Also for cast glidding or slider more than 1 oz. Also I can use it to fish surubies more than 50 lbs in the trolling method.

Hello from Argentina
Hello to everyone. Im Abel from Berisso, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Im 33 years old, fishing since I can remember. Always seeking information on BassResource, so a think it was a time to join this forum and share what I know and keep learning. Always fishing golden dorados, most of the time at Malecones from Berisso. There is a chance this year to fly to NY in August/September and if a I ve got the chance, maybe (if my wife let me) put a lure on the water.
