Daiwa Tatula CT?

Featured Replies

Curious what y’all think of this reel. I sold my Concept A on my spinnerbait rod to replace it with a Daiwa. Thinking about going with the CT. I have an Elite and a 100 that I love. Found the CT on sale for $99 so thinking of going that route.

I can't speak specifically on the CT, but will say I don't have one. I've got the Fuego right under it, and a Tatula 100 right over it, but no CT.

Seems to me people were saying the 2024 new version of the Tatula 100 was selling on Amazon for just a little over $100. I think it was the Japan version.

Rather than go with the CT for $100, I would try to jump up to the new 100 for just a bit more. I don't normally suggest something above a price point someone mentions, but in this case I think it would be worth it.

Seemed to me you search on Amazon for something like '24 Tatula 100. I will see if I can find it. Might not be available right with all the tariff stuff  going on, but worth a look.

I’ll give it a look. The 100 I have is the 2024 version. You can get them from Digitaka for $147 right now. That’s what the initial plan was until I saw that CT for $99

I have the previous version Tatula Ct (black & red) and I think it’s an excellent reel, I did handle the new version (black & gunmetal blue) but ultimately wound up with a Tatula 100 previous version but for $99.00 I personally say go for it.

I have the same version. Nothing bad about this reel. Perform really well. I dont know if Daiwa changed too much the inside of the new model, but it will be almost the same. So, a great deal for that price

I have both version. The newer version (spider on the side plate) I have had multiple issues with drag and brakes not working properly. I blamed it on Covid. The previous version with the red spool was bullet proof.

The CT is great and all that, but since you have the 24 100 you'll just end up wishing you paid the extra 47 bucks, world of difference in reel feel

I have a '20 ct and '24 100.

Both have:

7 bearings, same spool capacity,  mag z brake.

100 has aluminum side plates and hyper drive gears.

They both cast very well, the 100 is a bit smoother.

Hope this helps.

100 also has a lighter spool which almost always equates to better casts, control and distance.

You can get 24 Tat100 for about $110 on aliexpress,  Thats the route I would go for sure

Never have ordered from there. I’m guessing it’s legit? If that’s the case then yeah I’ll just get another 24 100

Off the start there is a good number of vendors who had real low prices that won't even ship to the US anymore.  With less competition the prices will be higher.

You cant go by what the seller says, as they always say the item is half off even when its well over market value.  Some vendor has 24 Tatula 100 for 300$ and it still says its 50% off.

The prices took a solid jump, 15-20% in most cases and some more.  The Tat 80 was like $85 not to long ago and now its 120$, almost a 50% increase.  What used to be free shipping became 14.70 and some gougers go higher.

The tat 100 is still cheaper to buy from AE($133) than Amazon.($160)

When you buy a reel outside of the USDM you lose any warranty that you would normally get.  If you're getting the reel at close to, or half price it worth it IMO.  IMO the warranty may be worth the extra 20% in some cases.

This fuego sv was 89 bucks just before the tariffs made me regret not blowing a whole paycheck on fishing stuff before we got screwed.

It's $664 total bow after all the extra fees

We're cooked and there's no going back, once companies taste this blood we're gonna be paying top dollar for junk for the rest of our lives.

I have one of the older models and two of the new models with a spider on the side.  The older model is a tank going on seven years old.  The newer models are good, but not the quality of the older model.  Watch the thumb bar on the newer models.  They tend to want to wiggle around after some use.

price gouging going on

It's this bro, as soon as the tariffs were on the menu I was all over AE and had a cart full of things I was considering.

So many things just became unavailable, but if you go to AE with a non US URL many things that disappeared or 5xd in price are available or still reasonably priced.

Maybe it's being discontinued, no idea,  but literally weeks ago was 89 bucks. I got a couple reel handles. One was a dollar and another like 8, they're either not available to ship to the US now or it's like $57 for shipping plus "extra charges" or however they worded it.

Some lures I was looking at either became unavailable to ship to US but some only increased a few bucks plus $12 shipping from 2 bucks or free shipping.

Same thing with PE line, brands i was looking at either unavailable now or jacked up. JOF is gonna get tested, I've heard it's decent.
