baitcasting rig...i dont have a specific rod/reel for jig fishin yet but when i do it'll be a 7'-7'6" MH-H with 30lb braid...itll double for a musky/catfish rod too...

Dont forget...hook sets are free...set it on anything that feels like it might be a fish and after a while you'll be able to tell the difference...

I wouldnt FLY back because that would just make it even more dangerous for everyone else but I would still use the big motor...

ok i went by gander mountain today and played around with a few reels...i see what they're for now...

i had 2 hooks do that to me today.....gamakatsu hooks are the only thing i use now...

I kinda figured that lol... so when you hit it it disengages the spool so like comes off and when you let off the spool engages so you can set the hook??

I see a lot of reels with flippin switches but Im not sure what they are really used for and why they would be useful. Can anyone tell me?

A friend of mine has a muskie crank thats made in japan that he wants to get more of. The only writing on them is THE FIRST on the bottom of it. The closest thing to it we've found are yozuri cranks.

A 12ft jon boat will fit fine in a truck bed...we've even had a 14 footer in the bed of a truck one day...strap it in real good and put a red flag/shirt or something on the end of it and you wont have any trouble...
