Hello, I am looking for a 2 piece frog rod that can handle heavy cover but also have enough tip for accurate casts and walking the frog. Looking at the Shimano Poison Adrena 7'2H (172H) and Poison Adrena 6'6HSB (166H-SB/2). Looking for a slightly lighter rod, as I was using a Dobyns Kaden 765 flip but that was too much of a broomstick for me. Will be pairing with a Zillion HD. Does anyone have any recommendations? Hello! I was looking through the Poison Adrena models and can't decide between the 7'4 H and 7'2 H. These would be the jdm models but have the same specs as usdm. The 7'2 is rated up to 1.5 oz, but could it throw 2 oz swimbaits like the tiny klash comfortably? The 7'4 H is also rated down to 0.5 ounce, but has anyone casted down that low and have had good distance? I currently have a Major Craft Days 702H which is also rated down to 0.5 oz but it feels stiff and I lose casting distance. Thanks!

I am throwing a ~1 oz free rig, beast hook soft plastic, tk, or citizen 6 90% of the time and will only pick up a frog once in a while. Will mostly be using the upper end of the weight range. Do you know how this rod balances?

I have a Major Craft Days 702H and I was just trying to get a higher end replacement. Would you say this poison adrena struggles with 0.5oz? I would throw frogs sometimes on it, and would just need some good castability. Fishing off a paddleboard so need a shorter rod. How is the handle and is it tip heavy? Have heard some people complain about those.

Has anyone used this (166H-SB/2) poison adrena rod for swimbaits? How long is the handle and how well does this handle lower weight lures (0.5oz) and lighter weedless treble hook baits like the citizen 6? Thanks!

Hello, I have a bunch of VMC tungsten quick connect drop shot weights that I want to use for free rig. Sometimes when I use fluro, the quick connect kinks the line and I break off. Has anyone rounded out the eye enough and used it on a free rig? Also thought about adding a split ring to it. Thanks!

I wouldn't say loose, just that the sideplate creaks. It's magnesium? I thought it was a metal frame. The brakes on mine also don't work very well, I need to have very high tension for it to not backlash. The thumb bar on my Zana also feels cheap and flexes a lot. Are you having the same experience on the Purelure? Finally, do you have the alphas? I've heard some reviews saying the zana is better

zillion can throw 15 lbs braid? Are there other sv reels that can do that too? Budget max is around 300

Hello, I am looking for a baitcaster that can throw 15 lbs braid and a lure range of 3/16 to 1/2 oz, and will be pairing this with a ML rod. I have a Purelure Zana right now, and even though it has a 1 piece metal frame, it feels flimsy and loose. I think that in general, BFS gear feels too weak, but smaller sized conventional gear (curado 70, tatula 80) has too much line capacity and doesn't handle small diameter braid well. I will throw lures from a Geecrack Supaku Swimmer to a Bellows Gill 2.8, so durability of BFS reel internals is also an issue. Does anyone know of a reel that can handle this? Looking at the Purelure/DMK Cheetah Metal, but I am still concerned about the loose feeling. Thanks!

this sounds like exactly my issue. I will go check if mine is 8x5 as I know bantam uses 7x5. What happens if my nut is stripped? Are the L and R nuts different threads? How many washers did you use? I think mine was tight with the medium sized washer.

I installed a Gomexus handle on my Bantam, and it started fine but loosened up and would have play when I had the spool locked down. The feeling is like when the drag is loose, and has about 5mm of play back and forth before it hits the anti reverse. Am I missing a washer somewhere? I tried putting the stock handle back on and this issue stayed. The threads also feel like they are bottoming out when I use the washers supplied from Gomexus. It would get tight, but when I tightened it more, it would loosen. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!

How does the regular action fish with both beast hooks and treble hooks? Do you think they can fish down to a 1/2 ounce frog? What reel do you use? I was going to put a bantam 150 mgl and was wondering how it would balance.

I am looking to get a rod for my all purpose Swimbait/Soft Plastic fishing under 3 ounces. I fish a 5.8 bellows gill, tiny klash, bbz rat 50, citizen 6, and occasionally a frog. I am deciding between the Major Craft Days/Benkei 702H, Frog Game 68FR, and Big Bait 68BB. Has anyone fished these and have any opinions? Looking for a longer handle as well. Can't find any information online but the specs of all 3 of these models are attractive. Main thing I am concerned about is lure ratings, as I have heard people saying these rods are overpowered. When I try to reel backwards, the reel doesn't feel very tight and the spool will have a clunking sound. Do you think that is the ARB? There is also a whining noise when I reel without eh spool in

is there any way to mitigate the anti reverse bearing? I don't think its the braid slippage because I have a taped down and I am rocking the spool lightly.

Yeah that back and forth with the spool was my only concern. It is very clunky when I reel hard, and I do that a lot when chopping swimbaits.
