  1. Fire mountain steak house in MI. There was one steakhouse that served alligators, rattlesnake and quail in TX,for the love of me i don't remember the name now.It was EXCELLENT! It was also extremely pricey!Well worth it though.I've only been there once.It was somewhere in the downtown area of Dallas.I wish i remembered where and what the name was.
  2. Indeed...95% of my bites come from wacky as apposed to T-rig.Strange thing. This is coming from somebody who doesn't like fishing worm type lures. They do have their place in the water though.

I had tons of trouble with IE,i don't on firefox... I hear good things about opera though...
  4. I'm taking a trip down TX...won't be bringing my gear for the fear of breakage. This is what i'm thinking of getting with a few jigs, senkos and kreature baits. It's only gonna be used for a day, then will be giving it away to somebody.A bunch of my friends will be there...hoping to get one of them starting fishing.

Honestly you can't beat Gman's jigs.
  6. That's craziness & scary....I refuse to live in fear though. It's one thing about religious i hate,it always seems to be the starting point over wars."Who's right and who's wrong"?
  7. Alpster nailed it.... ;D @ avid...
  8. Which is the safer one environmental wise? Hardness, sensitivity, size comparison and maybe even the fall rate. Actually i don't know, but if you ever do get some kind of results i'll be watching the outcome.Just don't lie, already know you don't care for tungsten weights.
  9. Ditto on what everybody said.I had to force myself to buy a pack, now it's all i ever buy.
  10. Cheese,Caught tons of bluegills with this.I was a whole lot younger....got in trouble for taking all the cheese... ;D
  11. That's how they are around here as well....I didn't even know they could be tipped.Somebody once told me they weren't allowed to be.Now i'm guessing they just don't have the time to sit around and wait for a tip, they gotta haul butt to make the next delivery. Most of my packages are left on the door step or inside my screen door.
  12. Hennessey,Tennessee whiskey,E&J,Southern comfort w/ice tea mix,Rum and coke. These are my perferred liquor choice. Beer...anything BUT keystone.
  13. Don't laugh.....WATER. It's because i can't swim(i've tried since i was 5 and still can't) .Still trying to get myself in a boat,i'm convincing myself it's the only way i'll catch them biggun'.
  14. For the life of me when i fish a worm, this is the only one i really get bites on the most.Or wacky rig a senko weightless works wonders.Something about wacky rigs work well where i fish, gonna guess not too many fish see this technique much.
  15. Man i'm glad i found this out.....
  16. My boy does the same thing,he bowls a 200 easy that way.He can make that ball spin in ways i didn't know about. He bowls tournaments as well.
  17. Thanks fourbizzle,So that XH would be a little overkill for mattlures in the 2 oz rating?
  18. #1.yes sweet beavers or anything alike has been my top 3 lures i've used this year with some excellent results. My favorite was putting a 1/4 oz bullet weight and frantically hopping it back after a cast.I've also put 3/8 oz weight to get it down faster as well some days. #2.yes on trailers for smaller spinners but not on the 1/2oz or bigger ones,no trailer hooks as i find myself snagging and losing the lure to easily with 2 hooks on. #3.yep,again i like to put a 1/4 oz or a 3/8 oz bullet weight and drag along the bottom.Carolina rigging would be even better. #4.Size is tricky, since i cast from shore i'm hitting alot of shallow water.I usually use a 3/8 or half oz for a reaction bite(or to be able to control the lure in heavier current) and 1/4 for calm waters on slow days bite.I hop mine on bottom as i myself never got a bite swimming a jig back.I'm sure it's just me on that part. I cast out and let it sit a few seconds, quick snap of the rod and reel in slack, I usually count up to 3 even longer on slow days.No matter how much you read and read about it,if you get the basic concept down it's all about experimenting what the fish want that day. I usually stick with the basic colors of green pumpkin,watermelon/red,brown or black and blue for any soft plastic lures. For spinners the color white with char. seem to be the popular color here.
  19. I'm looking at the 7'6 XH okuma swimbait rod paired with the shimano cardiff 300 myself. This seems to be within my budget and seems like the right set up for 2 oz or bigger.
  20. This thread just made me decide i need a new swimbait setup after christmas... ;D
  21. Sweet corn works just as well.
  22. The non-keepers are referred to dinks here..which means 14'' or less.Anything over 14" here are keepers.
