  1. I haven't been on for two or three months, been to busy with my life mainly and got out of the habit of logging on every other day. Quite a bit of changes since I was last on. Heres what I have observed in 15 minutes of searching around. 1. Muddy is gone (not suprised) 2. Hookemdown ex membered himself but is now back as a newbie. 3. Post count is gone from the avatar. (not suprised) 4. A lot of guys that I remember welcoming right before I left for a little while are now full or senior members . Any body wanna fill me in on any other big changes that happened since early march?
  2. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1206326160 Some of you may or may not remember the thread about whether or not it helped or hurt to cut a pincher off a soft plastic craw to simulate it being injured. Well I did my first bit of field research. Me and my father fished a slightly remote river during spring break in SE Missouri. It has a lot of nice deep slow moving pools and clear water, but due to recent floods the water was stained. After my dad caught a black crawdad accidentally with a worm and bobber, I decided to "match the hatch" and tied on two YUM craws with a jighead. I pinched one of the pinchers off and put it on 8 pound line and fished it with slow short hops, and my father fished it the same way but with both pincers and 6 pound line. The results were 3 largemouth and a smallmouth for me, all around 13 inches except for a largemouth that was 16. My dad caught 3 largemouth that were all about 13 too. So the craw with one less pincer didn't beat the two crawed bait by a lot, but keep in mind the water was murky and the two craws were on lighter line.
  3. Its really not much bigger than most tackle bags on the market. Its a backpack so you dont have to carry it either. You don't have to fill it with 90 pounds of tackle every time you go out but its nice if I wanna to know you could if you wanted to. Most of the times I just take along 3 or 4 boxes. Bassn Blvd, no offense or anything but you must not bank fish a whole lot. A crankbait a topwater and a couple worms isnt a whole lot, it would really limit your fishing, especially if you hang one up.
  4. A girl I know told me this and I didn't believe her. Guess she was right
  5. They are NOT mutts. They are specifically breeded dogs breeded for the two species positive traits. I do not much care for them either but there is a demand for them. The groomers are just trying to make a living. It is not a crime against nature. It happens in nature all the time. Many of the current breeds of dog were made this way naturally hundreds thousands of years ago. It is the same as breeding certain plants for their traits, which is the base of modern agriculture.
  6. FOR BANK ANGLERS ONLY After 3 or 4 years of shopping around and testing (and failing) many soft plastic tackle bags for my bank angling needs, I have finally settled on one. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58138_100011010_100000000_100011000_100-11-10 Its a browning backpack with a little attachment for 3 3700 tackleboxes. I know what your thinking, three 3700 tackleboxes are not going to hold all my stuff and why would I want a backpack instead of a tackle bag? Well, first the backpack is versatile. You can take the tackle part out and just have a nice big backpack. Secondly, and most importantly, you can cram a bunch of 3700 tackleboxes in the two large main compartments. I got 6, so thats a total of 9. 9 is much more than most tackle bags on the market. Thirdly there is four large pockets for other stuff like pliers, camara, sunglasses, food etc... And you can carry like a backpack (duh, it is one) which leaves one extra hand available which comes in handy when you have to walk around a lot, like when i fish remote rivers. I love it! I'm done buying any more tacklebags for a long time
  7. Put a little megastrike on your lures to make them hold on to it longer
  8. This is what I do about 50 percent of the time. I take a treble hook and cut off one of the three barbs. Then I thread on a plastic trailer of my choice and before I thread it on all the way I put on the treble hook, and then thread the rest of the soft plastic on. It does not hang up as much because the bottom barb is gone and it stays on there well.
  9. Its only up from here!
  10. x2. I bought a couple of packs when they were on sale for practically nothing at my local store, but they are really stiff and only fished them once with very little confidence. Did not catch anything. They smell just like fish food.
  11. Way to go! Better get out again soon though, warm weather is coming!
