Yeah I remember that thread it had some realistic looking crawfish and perch patterns.

I voted for weeds but my favorite is when a small creek runs into a river/lake. Add a laydown or some type of cover at the mouth and it can be an awesome spot.

Fluoro does stretch a lot more than people think. I read that some brands of fluoro actually stretch more than some brands of mono.

Right, you can make it sink slowly too. You can use golfers tape, bigger trebles, wrap a little metal wire around the trebles, or drill and insert weight and then seal it with epoxy.

Poppers, just can't seem to catch fish on them, don't know why. Carolina rig, don't have confidence in it.

Sorry I have no advice, I am not an ice fisherman. However, if you are going to ice fish NOW be very, very careful, or wait till next year. Warmer temps. have made ice much thinner. I saw on the news today that a guy was trying to ice fish around here (Chicago) and he broke through and had to be rescued.

Something very crazy also just happened, Illinois WON. They beat Minnesota. They are going to the big ten championship and if they win that they will go to the tournament, even though this has been one of the worst years for the Illini basketball team in a while and they have a losing record.

My dad thinks similiarly. He enjoys fishing but just cannot comprehend why I release the bass I catch. People like that, they are very CLOSE-MINDED and will not listen to you. Just don't talk to him about it. Just explain to him that fishing is a sport, and is your passion. It would be futile to fish just for food, considering the expenses. Gas, Boat, rods/reels, tackle, etc... It would be much cheaper to buy a fancy fish dinner when you want fish.
