  1. steel wool tissues. steel wool underpants steel wool tampons :o
  2. water and those cheese and crackers they sell at the gas station.
  3. swimbaits are great but any lure will catch a giant bass if presented properly at the right location during the right time of year.
  4. Most brands will work fine but I personally use spiderwire.
  5. Wow Great Job!!!! Way to get your little girl into fishing.
  6. I agree, you don't actually have to eat them, just remove them. It will help the pond greatly in the long run.
  7. Dude, live bait and "realistic" looking swimbaits are no where near the same thing or even similiar for that matter. Live bait has enzymes in it which draws the fish and makes them bite. The type of way you fish each bait is totally different. With live bait you cast it out and wait for the fish, and with swimbaits you slowly reel them back. What are we supposed to fish with, an orange square chunk of plastic as a swimbait. This way, we aren't cheating. ;D
  8. I would look for slower moving water too.
  9. x2, although I would go with a lighter model and crimp split shot onto the shank of the hook if extra weight is needed. That is, if you only want to use one spinnerbait.
  10. No problem, Reaction baits are baits/techniques that cause a bass to "react" to the lure. This means the bass gets suprised, angry, territorial, predatorial etc... And they hit the lure not because of feeding but purely because of their natural reaction. Lures like this include, lipless crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and a lot more.
  11. Glenn, Are there ELITE series pros registered and contributing posts right now?
  12. 5 pounds. Sorry we had to rain on your parade but nice fish anyhow
  13. For the most part, no. A quality rod cannot find and catch bass, but it may help with subtleties that help you make the bass bite and land it.
  14. I have never fished the Ohio but from what I hear it is really a tough place to fish. I would either use reaction baits or slow way down.
  15. The fish should be shallow, especially if the day is sunny. Look for flats with quick access to deep water.
