  1. Topwaters are the only lures that I go top of the line with almost everyone of them. The reason is there is usually a huge difference in the cheap stuff and expensive stuff, as opposed to soft plastic baits, spinnerbaits, jigs, etc... Also, you will almost never lose a topwater, as long as your line has no nicks and your drag is set correctly. I've been using the same Rebel Pop-r for 4 years! It has caught probably 50-60 fish. I had to replace the feather three times. I certainly do not own crankbaits for that long!
  2. Well they should be waking up, so look for their beds and foutans
  3. welcome. Right now fish mid day more, because the fish will be shallower, soaking up the suns heat and feeding in anticipation of the spawn. When the water is choppy it makes decreases light penetration, creates micro currents, and can consentrate baitfish. Fish accordingly.
  4. Thanks pieman and bass paddler.
  5. Oil desolves??? I am partial to megastrike lol. me too
  6. wow.
  7. welcome
  8. I want to learn how to really pattern and follow bluegill like bass, because where there is bluegill I know the bass will be close, and I just want to catch a bunch of bluegill this year. If there is any links to websites or any organizations that would be helpful, I would greatly appreciate it.
  9. Neither! I would go with fluorocarbon for sure. And if you cannot get fluorocarbon for some weird reason, I would go with the mono
  10. The jointed one looks very neat.
  11. I think its more like where you fish these baits. I fish them in clear water and I'm usually calling up bigger than average size bass. Also, I use a floating tube bait as a walk the dog bait when the bass are really finicky. the tentacles continue to move when the bait sits.
  12. A lot of hooks these days are chemically sharpened anyways, so sharpening them actually makes them more dull. Just replace'em.
  13. I remember hearing about a few 20 plus size bass were caught accidentally in a net by the talapia harvestors at some lakes down there like Baccarac and maybe El Salto. They were released but never measured or weighed.
  14. Exactly what I was thinking. Either modify your buzzbait, making it smaller and retrieving it slower is my thought, or switch to a bait that is much slower and that you could stop.
  15. I agree. DO NOT buy walking worms
  16. welcome
  17. Sorry if this has been said because I dont have time to read all the posts. The guy is probably a complete amateur fisherman and has not a clue about the way you are supposed to act while angling. He probably doesn't care who catches the bass as long as someone gets it and gets a nice meal out of it, and probably assumes everyone thinks that way.
  18. I do not think that the next hot bait will be something thats on the market right now. The chatterbait and basstrix were not on the market for very long before they became hot. I think some new tweaking of an old bait will produce the next hot bait. Thats pretty much what the chatterbait is.
