  1. I'm waiting for the Cabela's Guide Wear Extreme gloves to get stocked back up again. They are just a matter of convenience to me as I drive right by Cabela's every day.
  2. I keep forgetting to check Fleet Farm. Wouldn't mind grabbing a few Rapala floaters for $5 ea!! I'll see if I can get there in the next couple days. Thanks for the heads up!
  3. You have to add the balancer to tolerate these rods. No way around it. I don't do a whole lot of actual flippin' but I do still use my Avid telescoping when I do. Not gonna go buy another rod to do that when I don't do it that much.
  4. I think it would work.
  5. I actually have not used the Presso yet. I will have more answers come May.
  6. That will be cool! I like the whole idea of it! Service ribbons, medals, branch, rank insignia on fishing rods for vets....nice!
  7. The reel, spooled with 6 or 8 lb line can handle it, the rod will play an important role. This is why I had one built for my Presso. Get you a good rod and forget about inferiority complex!
  8. Most of those types (telescoping) ARE heavy. Even my Avid is, they all benefit from a balancer too, no matter the brand. I am going to be using my 7'3" Tournament ZX for pitching too
  9. My Revo LTX arrived today. Picked up my custom finesse casting rod Monday after work. Those are my latest buys. I gotta lay off this stuff for awhile!!
  10. Money never lasts, I like the trophies and plaques better because they hold memories forever. My biggest single event check was somewhere around $800. It was $650 for 1st and I took big fish too and that put me over $800 as I recall. That was also my last win, I never won again after that.
  11. Banned? Ah geez....why? Did I miss something?
  12. Hey Tony....did you ever get the Revo LT? I just got a new LTX this week. Anybody know where my buddy aavery2 went? I just noticed his name shows in black instead of green. Is that a dead acct?
  13. Well, I talked with them today when I picked up my latest St Croix finesse custom and he's going to build me a complete Batson custom next.
  14. Oh man....I LOVE my original Castaic CA-200 with it's "insta-gage". Not awkward for me. The other type of flippin' switch is a bad deal if you forget it's on and try to make a normal cast with it on. Bad. And also a PITA to work on too.
  15. I've got the question up on 3 different sites. Nobody knows. I'll let you know if I remember after I get it done.
  16. If you watch Lindners show you'll see Talons mounted to aluminum boats in every show.
  17. One of my spinning reels that I use for wade fishing got dunked a few times throughout the season and I never tore it down. It now has a bearing (or something) that must be corroded because it "whirs" lightly when reeling fast. I have had it apart 10 times but can't get rid of the "whir". Oddly, it doesn't do it nearly as much when reeling it in reverse. Other than that, it works excellent so I'm not gonna worry about it. My point is this kind of thing happens if you don't get it into the OR right away.
  18. I'd have measured one but my vernier is digital and the battery was dead when I went to do it. I'll get a new battery and get it done.
  19. Sully, how are you fishing those lakes? kayak, float tube, boat?
  20. What size are the line roller bearings in the Daiwa spinning reels? my guess.... 3x6x2.5? I need to get me a few Thank you guys!
  21. I'm wanting to see comments on the Revelation blanks. I am thinking my next custom will be a Revelation 68MXF. If I can find out these are somewhat comparable to St. Croix SC II blanks then it's a done deal.
  22. You'll be surprised how sensitive they are, I promise. Ima get me one too if they gonna give 'em away for $45.
  23. Ha! I'd like to know how you manage that?? From what I understand, you don't fish enough to figure any such thing! I have a TD-Z 100M that I was going to gear up, but I didn't yet so I could try the stock gearing on some crankbaits or spinnerbaits. I have a 5:1 Tatula that I throw deep divers on. It didn't get used much last year, maybe 30 casts total as I just don't crank deep very much....cuz I'm no good at it!
